Abstract: Systems and methods provide for transmitting updates in an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) environment towards a client. The method includes: maintaining the updates in a data hierarchy of updates; receiving a first message identifying a client; retrieving information associated with the client; determining which updates are relevant to the client by matching the information associated with the client to the data hierarchy of updates; and transmitting a second message toward the client with information associated with the determined updates.

Abstract: A method and system for providing call pickup service in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) communication network is described. When call pickup is to be invoked, an IMS network node, e.g., a core network node or an application server, receives a Globally Routable User Agent URI (GRUU) associated with one of a plurality of devices which is to be used to pick up a call that is in the process of being placed to another device in a call pickup group. The IMS network node determines whether the one of the plurality of devices is authorized to pick up the call based, at least in part, on the received GRUU. Then, the IMS network node transmits a message to establish the call with that one of the plurality of devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods according to these exemplary embodiments provide for service personas to be added to network address books, in addition to personal contacts. Address book functionality can be leveraged by service providers to distribute their services and/or service updates to users. Users can leverage address book functionality to search for, register for, and screen updates from, a variety of services.

Abstract: Systems and methods according to these exemplary embodiments provide active call concierge services wherein a network tracks users' behaviors with respect to, for example, supplementary services. When a user invokes a supplementary service toward a called party, the network captures this data. The network informs an agent on the user's device that it should prompt the user to reuse the same supplementary service the next time that the user dials the same called party. If the user inputs an acceptance of this suggestion, the user's device automatically appends or adds the service code associated with the repeated supplementary service to the outgoing call setup signal.

Abstract: Method and network node for enhancing tracking of peer distribution of a content in a network comprising receiving, from a first subscriber, a request to forward the content to a second subscriber, the request comprising a content identifier and logging in a record the content identifier and an identifier of the first subscriber and, optionally an identifier of the second subscriber. Optional aspects include, following the step of receiving the request, generating a license key related to the content and valid for the second subscriber, sending the license key towards the second subscriber and providing the content to the second subscriber. Other optional aspects include locating the record and providing an incentive to the first subscriber or adjusting a charging record of the content provider.

Abstract: A method for provisioning services to a subscriber comprises: receiving an indication of use of a first service by the subscriber; and upon receipt of the indication, checking if an account of the subscriber comprises a sufficient number of credits for allowing the subscriber to use the first service; if the number of credits is not sufficient, pushing a second service to the subscriber according to a predetermined contract between the subscriber and a network operator so as to increment the number of credits in the account for allowing the first service to proceed. A network node, for carrying out this method, comprises a processor for receiving the indication of use of the first service and a service function to check the number of credits in the account and to push the second service if the number of credits is not sufficient in the account.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and network node for deferring a transmission of a message comprising an advertisement (Ad) component. The method comprises the steps of detecting that a target device for the message is roaming and that a deferring option is active for the target device. The method also comprises a step of storing the message with the Ad component. After the step of storing, the method comprises a step of receiving a notification indicating that the target device is not roaming. If the Ad component is valid, a step of sending the message to the target device is executed and if the Ad component is not valid, the steps of retrieving a new Ad, updating the message with the new Ad and sending the message to the target device are executed.

Abstract: A method and communication server for mapping an address to a service capability, wherein a server determines if a service requested in a service request, such as for example in a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) INVITE message, can be initiated with a first user identifier. The server further determines an alternate user identifier when determined that the service cannot be initiated with the first user identifier replaces the first user identifier with the alternate user identifier in the request for the service, so that the requested service can be successfully established.

Abstract: There are provided methods, a presence server, a User Equipment (UE), and a presence message in the form of a computer data signal embodied in a transmission medium for notifying about a second identity assignment to the UE. The second user identity is obtained from a network and stored. The first identity may be an MSISDN assigned by a first network, while the second identity may comprise another MSISDN and/or a SIP URI assigned by another network, e.g. by an IMS network for use in obtaining IMS services. Then, a presence message (e.g. a SIP SUBSCRIBE or NOTIFY message) is sent out to notify at least one other user about the assignment of the second user identity, the presence message comprising the first and second identities of the UE, so that communications can be initiated by the other user using the second identity.

Abstract: A method and communication server for updating a user identifier, wherein the server detects that a user involved in a new communication has changed an old user identifier for a new identifier. The server also triggers a search for pre-defined groups containing the old user identifier and when determining that the user is part of one or more pre-defined groups, instructing an update of the one or more pre-defined groups with the new user identifier.

Abstract: A method and communication server for creating a communication group are provided, wherein the server detects a group communication, such as for example, a text-based group communication, or a voice or video based group communications. The server not only sets up the group communication toward the participants, but also creates a communication group, comprising an identifier and identities of the participants, in response to the group communication detection. Participants to the group communication receive from the server a communication group identifier, which they can store and use in order to facilitate subsequent group communications.

Abstract: A system, method, and interworking function for interfacing the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) messaging systems. When an Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC) receives an MMS message, the MMSC determines whether the message is addressed to an MMS user or an IMS user. If addressed to an MMS user, the MMSC routes the MMS message to an email server for forwarding to another MMSC. If addressed to an IMS user, the MMSC routes the MMS message to the interworking function. The interworking function converts a destination address in the MMS message to a destination address for the IMS user that is routable through a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) core network. The message may be mapped to a SIP MESSAGE format or an MSRP format and sent through the SIP core network to the addressed IMS user.
