  • Patent number: 4732094
Abstract: A stick planting apparatus (10) includes a storage and singulating unit (18) and a picker/placer unit (22). Sticks (S) having at least one viable bud thereon are stored in the storage unit and are automatically singulated in that unit. • Patent number: 4607672
Abstract: An improved wood processing apparatus which prevents clogging or fouling of the apparatus by providing a clear opening in the base of the apparatus for the passage of the pieces once cut, this area directing the pieces by gravity away from the drive mechanism. Additionally, the fully enclosed nature of the cutting hole eliminates the possibility of logs of too large a section being inserted into the cutting drum thereby stalling or fouling the cutting drum action.

  • Patent number: 4431039
Abstract: A comminuting apparatus for reducing trees or portions thereof to particles of engineered length especially suitable for ring flaking for subsequent use in flakeboard fabrication and for use by utilities and industries using wood for energy production. The apparatus utilizes one or two rotating discs to which one on a plurality of curved cutting members are mounted and which severs trees, tree portions or other fibrous masses fed at right angles to a rotating shaft member. By the precise design of cutting members mounted on the rotating disc or discs, wood particles of engineered length are produced.
