  • Patent number: 4384647
Abstract: A container assembly suitable for standing on a desk top or other flat surface to store office and other articles of daily use is built in a modular manner from individual structural elements arranged axially in series side by side. Each structural element consists of a prismatic body which has at least three longitudinal external walls and has a base, bounded by two longitudinal edges and two lateral edges, by means of which it stands on the desk top.The longitudinal edges of the base and the longitudinal edges of the external walls run parallel to the central axis of the prismatic body. At least one of the longitudinal external walls of this body forms a front face which is inclined in a lectern-like manner in relation to the base, and the prismatic body has on both sides a side wall which in each case runs perpendicular to its central axis.

  • Patent number: 4295623
Abstract: A variable position article holder according to the teachings of the present invention is shown in the preferred embodiment for holding boxes for recording tapes such as cassette, 8-track, or video tape. The tape holder includes first and second L-shaped members. The second L-shaped member can be interfitted within an L-shaped aperture formed in the first L-shaped member. The second L-shaped member is slidably and pivotably mounted to the first L-shaped member within the aperture by detents which extend from the second L-shaped member into slots formed in the leg portions of the first L-shaped member adjacent the aperture. A washboard series of angular peaks are formed on the top surface of the second leg of the second L-shaped member. The first L-shaped member further includes ratchet levers which extend into the aperture and engage with the angular peaks of the second L-shaped member.

  • Patent number: 4244587
Abstract: Apparatus for cleaning records is shown in its preferred form including first and second liquid containers, a body member, and a cleaner element pivotally mounted to the body member. A supportive, positional recess is formed in the body member and includes first and second ribs for interlocking with first and second groove members located on the first liquid container and also preferably includes a third rib for interlocking with an indented slot located on the second liquid container. Therefore, the first and second liquid containers can be removably supported, positioned, and snuggly interfitted within the recess. The cleaner element includes a casing member and a cleaner member. The cleaner member includes a form member having cushioning material positioned over the outside surfaces thereof and further includes a cleaning cloth positioned over the remaining portions of the form member and the cushioning material.

  • Patent number: 4239307
Abstract: Storage and demonstration device for polygonal or round flat objects, for example card-shaped display objects, in the kind of a container. The device comprises a stand and a multi-segmented cover which is formed by a number of consecutively arranged segments. The segments are turnably supported in the stand in such a manner that they can be tilted towards the front and rear of the stand. The segments enclose compartments which are closed when the segments occupy the position towards the rear.

  • Patent number: 4212401
Abstract: A storage device for storing card-like objects, for example photographs. The device is in the form of a cassette like container in which the objects are stacked upright in a rear section comprising the base, lower parts of each side wall and the rear wall of the cassette. A first section of the cassette is pivoted about the front edge of the base and comprises at least part of the top, the front wall and upper parts of the side walls complementary with the side wall lower parts. In the open condition of the cassette photographs can readily be turned forward one by one to stack face downwards on the front section. A plurality of such cassettes may be pivotally supported in a rectangular frame, one behind the other, so that the contents of each cassette can be readily inspected in turn.

  • Patent number: 4191292
Abstract: A container for an interchangeable cassette comprises a casing having a frame-like slide therein which engages the cassette. For removal of the cassette from the casing, a spring urges the slide and cassette outwardly and the arrangement is such, that in the open position of the slide, at least that part of the slide which protrudes from the casing assumes an oblique position relative to the casing and cassette to allow the cassette to be removed directly from the casing. The slide may include tape hub-engaging bosses to prevent tape spillage.

  • Patent number: 4138123
Abstract: Record cleaning device is shown in its preferred form for use with a turntable. The record cleaning device includes, in the preferred embodiment, a vertical member, a horizontal member, and a brush holder including means for receiving a brush. The horizontal member is pivotally mounted for movement in a horizontal plane about the vertical member at a single, preset vertical spacing and is prevented from pivoting in a vertical direction. The brush holder is slidably and adjustably vertically mounted to the horizontal member. Therefore, the brush can follow the grooves of the record as it revolves on the turntable platter to clean the record and only the weight of the brush and the brush holder is transferred to the record.

  • Patent number: 4128175
Abstract: A stand which is capable of holding both gramophone records and magnetic tape cassette cases. The stand comprises a baseplate having side walls or other members projecting upwardly therefrom to define, with the top of the baseplate, gramophone record receiving compartments. The projecting members are so formed as to provide a stable support for the stand in an inverted position exposing the underside of the baseplate, cassette case holding means being provided on the thus exposed underside of the baseplate.
