  • Patent number: 5546900
Abstract: An intake assembly for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine which has at least first and second intake ducts of different lengths for each cylinder which proceed from an intake distributor and converge shortly before an intake valve. The shorter second intake duct is provided with a shut-off device formed by a control shaft which extends along the whole length of the laterally adjacent second individual intake ducts and at least one end of which is mounted in a radially freely movable manner.

  • Patent number: 5477819
Abstract: An integrated air intake system, particularly for the combustion air of an internal-combustion engine, which comprises a plastic housing (10), an air intake manifold, an air filter (21) and at least one additional electric and/or mechanical component. The housing is constructed of a plurality of shells and is formed with a bottom part (37) and a top part (38) divided by a parting plane extending along the intake manifold (23). The air filter is arranged in an unfiltered air chamber in the top part, and a cover (12) on the top part closes off the unfiltered air chamber and secures the air filter therein.

  • Patent number: 5209191
Abstract: An air intake manifold for an internal combustion engine including a mounting flange through which a plurality of intake ducts open. Blow-by gases from the crankcase of the engine are introduced into the intake ducts through channels or passageways communicating with the ducts adjacent a face of the mounting flange which is fastened to the cylinder head of the engine. Connecting means also are provided through which the blow-by gases are introduced into the channels or passageways. The invention provides a simple design for feeding blow-by gases into the air intake manifold and for assuring uniform filling of the individual intake ducts with blow-by gases which lubricate the intake valves due to their slight oil content.

  • Patent number: 4449493
Abstract: A slosh baffle for selective and retroactive installation in the oil pan of an in-line internal combustion engine for automotive vehicles, the slosh baffle being attachable to the rim of the oil suction strainer by snap-action assembly, its transverse orientation being determined by means of a saddle portion on the slosh baffle which engages an elbow of the oil suction line. Attachment to the strainer rim is obtained by means of several downwardly depending flexible snap hooks on the periphery of a supporting flange of the slosh baffle, in cooperation with separate centering lugs.
