  • Patent number: 11554876
Abstract: A dam for use with a duct having a longitudinal axis. The dam employs a single piece insert having a first lateral flange and a second lateral flange configured to engage opposing interior lateral surfaces of the duct. The insert engages the duct in sealing contact in a seated position. The first and second lateral flanges are offset longitudinally along the longitudinal axis and joined with a curved wall having a curvature shaped to be received, with the insert oriented at an insert angle about a normal axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, in an aperture in the duct.

  • Patent number: 9463535
Abstract: In one advantageous embodiment of the present disclosure, an apparatus and method for supporting a load is provided. The apparatus comprises a structure having an inner surface with a shape configured to substantially conform to an outer surface of a stringer. A number of pins extends from the inner surface of the structure such that the number of pins are configured to engage holes in the outer surface of the stringer when the structure is placed over the outer surface of the stringer. The pins support the structure with respect to the stringer when a load is applied to the structure. A number of members extends from the outer surface of the structure such that the number of members is configured to connect to a part.

  • Patent number: 6347770
Abstract: A dual-seat control system for an aircraft provides an upright mounted at one end to pivot by actuation of a user near the other end. Cross beams extend from the upper end of the upright to positions in front of each user. The cross beams each carry a handle at an outboard end by which an operator can move the upright as a control stick in either a pitch-control direction, or a roll-control direction. The cross beams are free to move in one degree of freedom with respect to the upright, and are fixed in the other degree of freedom. Typically, the handle is attached in a manner to move in rigid body motion with respect to the upright in a pitch-control direction, while being free to move in a plane defined by the cross beam and upright at will, according to the desires of an operator. In certain embodiments, the handle may be required to be parallel to the upright in all positions, from a lower stowed position to an upper deployed position.
