    Abstract: A dry-shaving apparatus comprises a housing; a longitudinally extending shear plate; a holder for the shear plate, the holder being removable from the housing; and a longitudinally extending cutter rotatable relative to the shear plate. The cutter includes a carrier having cutting elements movable in a substantially radial direction relative to the carrier. Each cutting element has a cutting edge at its radial end, such radial ends being in contact with the shear plate during only a part of a revolution of the cutter and being clear of other parts of the apparatus during another part of the cutter revolution. A guide wall provided on the housing adjoins the shear plate, the radial ends of the cutting elements also being in contact during a further part of the cutter revolution with such guide wall.

    Abstract: A dry-shaving apparatus comprises a housing supporting a holder for a longitudinally extending shear plate provided with hair-entry apertures; and an associated longitudinally extending cutter rotatable about an axis of rotation. The cutter includes a carrier having cutting elements movable relative to the carrier in substantially radial directions, each cutting element having a cutting edge at its radial end. The shear plate has a central portion shaped as a part of a circularly cylindrical surface and formed with the hair-entry apertures, such central portion partly surrounding the cutter. The cutting edges of the cutting elements of the cutter, as it rotates, follow a constrained path defined by the shear plate and a free path where the cutting edges are disengaged from the shear plate. The shear plate also has two peripheral portions respectively adjoining its central portion for securing the shear plate to the holder.

A plurality of resilient blade arms respectively connects the blades to the central body, each blade arm lying in a plane inclined in the direction of rotation of the first cutting member. Each blade arm is in the form of a leaf spring and extends in its longitudinal direction radially from the central body and in its lateral direction substantially along a helix extending both in the axial direction towards the second cutting member and in the direction of rotation.

    Abstract: A hair-cutting device comprises a stationary cutter; and a drivable cutter reciprocatingly movable with respect to the stationary cutter, each cutter being provided with teeth extending substantially at right angles to the driving direction. Each tooth of the drivable cutter is formed at the free end of a flexible arm, the respective flexible arms being spaced from each other to provide a slot between each pair of adjacent flexible arms. A rigid pressure element is located adjacent to and within the range of elastic deflection of the free ends of the respective flexible arms. The opposite end of each flexible arm is connected to a common cutter beam, the respective flexible arms and the cutter beam being integrally formed in one piece from a flexible sheet material.
