    Abstract: A system and method for converting legacy program code to up to date program code is provided. The system and method includes a compiler having four modules—a parser, a transformer, an optimizer, and a code generator. The parser reads the code and analyzes the code by identifying key words, identifying key contextual indicators, and identifying inefficiencies in the code. The transformer translates the legacy program code to the up to date program code using a translation table. The optimizer reduces inefficiencies in the transformed code.
