Abstract: Design method of an intraoral splint-type device (1) to treat bruxism and/or sleep apnoea among others, using CAD/CAM software technology, where the method of the invention starts with an intraoral scan and is subsequently characterized by converting the arch (2, 3) defined as a one-piece mesh, into as many pieces as dental pieces (4) needed to be discerned, by means of thermal simulation. This segmentation makes it possible to isolate the geometry of each dental piece (4) in order to design the intraoral device (1) around each dental piece (4). In other words, it allows for the modification of the thickness (6c), height, etc. in a non-uniform way for each dental piece (4) according to the needs of the patient. This method allows the user very precise manipulation of the intraoral device (1) that is created, satisfying the mechanical and dental needs of each dental piece (4), and providing greater comfort to the patient.

Abstract: Mixing device (1) and fluid mixing method, by means of successive transfers between syringes. The mixing method comprises placing a pair of syringes (2, 3) in the mixing device (1), adjusting a variable fixing element adaptable to the pair of syringes (2, 3) and selecting and running a mixing programme, being the mixing force, the speed and the range and the number of transfers adjustable. The mixing device comprises a mobile carriage (7) longitudinally movable and fixing elements (8, 9) with an adjustable distance between them. The invention allows for the mixing or emulsifying of blood fluids with different viscosity, particularly a protein gel and a platelet-rich plasma, for the preparation of dermatological formulations, in a versatile, hygienic and effective manner.

The preparation method of the adhesive comprises the steps of raising the temperature of the initial blood composition and subsequently activating the composition. Among other advantages, the tissular adhesive is biocompatible and biodegradable, has desirable biological or medical properties provided by the presence of platelets or growth factors, and also has a high adhesiveness and an accelerated coagulation process.

The projection (19) from the pusher (18) of the presser mechanism (17) transmits a downwards force (F) exerted by the user, onto the step (12) of the stepped body (9) by pushing it down a distance (x) with the plunger (3). In this way, the dosing device (1) can measure an exact dose of the compound manually, quickly and easily without the need for additional measurements.

Abstract: Method for the surface treatment of a dental implant or a prosthetic component made out of titanium or a titanium alloy, which enables an outer surface of the implant or the prosthetic component to be obtained with a notable capacity to prevent bacterial adhesion and offer a better aesthetic finish. This method comprises the steps of providing an outer surface of the implant or the prosthetic component with a surface roughness, and applying an anodizing treatment on the implant or the prosthetic component, smoothing the roughness and generating nanopores on this outer surface of the implant or the prosthetic component. The invention also relates to a dental implant or a prosthetic component made out of titanium or a titanium alloy, which comprises an outer surface that is rough and has nanopores.

Abstract: A device for the extraction of blood or a blood compound is provided that includes a tube, a piston assembly, a handle assembly that can be clipped to the piston assembly, and a perforable sealing element that prevents the flow of fluid from a sealed interior space of the tube towards a longitudinal interior cavity of the handle assembly located adjacent to a separable area of the handle assembly. In use, the handle assembly is pushed to the bottom of the tube, causing the handle assembly to be clipped to the piston assembly, the handle assembly and the piston assembly are then moved rearwards forming a vacuum in the space, the piston assembly is clipped to an end cap of the tube and the gripping portion of the handle assembly is separated, obtaining a vacuum container with a perforable closure.

Abstract: A dental prosthesis (1) with an angled inner bore (2) is proposed, formed by a first hole (7) and a second hole (26) connected by an angled connection area (29) formed with an angle between 0° and 180°. An outer area (31) and side areas (32) of the angled connection area (29) form an elbow (40) devoid of protruding edges directed towards the interior of the inner bore (2). Said elbow (40) facilitates the insertion and extraction of a screw through the inner bore (2) during the assembly or disassembly of the dental prosthesis (1) on a dental implant. Some methods of manufacturing said dental prosthesis (1) are also proposed.

Abstract: Container device (1) for collecting, storing and processing blood or a blood compound, which comprises a tube (10) with a connector (23) on its distal end (13), a piston set (30, 50) that can move through an interior space (14) of the tube (10), and a valve set (70, 90) preventing the flow of fluid through the distal opening (16) of the tube (10). The invention also refers to method for preparing the formulation, comprising the steps of heating and then cooling the initial blood composition at certain temperatures and times. Among other advantages, the formulation in accordance with the invention is biocompatible and biodegradable, presents the desirable biological or medical properties provided by the presence of platelets or growth factors, and also presents high dimensional stability over time.

Abstract: Set of dental implant and prosthetic components (1), which comprises a dental implant (10), a transepithelial sleeve (20), a first screw (30), an upper part (40) and a second screw (50), wherein an upper end of the dental implant (10) and a lower end of the transepithelial sleeve (20) can be coupled together via a first anti-rotational connection (60), and wherein an upper end of the transepithelial sleeve (20) and a lower end of the upper part (40) can be coupled together via a second anti-rotational connection (70). Having a combination of two anti-rotational connections (60, 70) between the transepithelial sleeve (20), the dental implant (10) and the upper part (40), respectively, allows obtaining a set that is extremely rigid and resistant to torsion, for unitary dental prostheses on a single dental implant (10), and which prevents the rotation of the dental prosthesis with respect to the dental implant (10).

The extraction of the implant (5) is relatively simple to carry out, removing the implant (5) in an almost clean manner and leaving a very small cavity (13) in the patient's bone (6). Therefore, the implant removal tool (1) according to the invention makes the removal of an implant (5) a far less traumatic procedure for the patient.

The body (12; 32; 52; 72) is configured to be placed in the mouth or on another part of a person's head, with the known-density elements (13; 33; 53; 73) arranged in the region of the person's teeth. The device enables a quantitative computed tomography apparatus to adjust its calculations so as to convert the radiodensity units of the tomographic image into bone mineral density units, by knowing the exact densities of certain points of the image, corresponding to the points where the known-density elements (13; 33; 53; 73) are located.

Abstract: Mandibular advancement device (1; 20) and a device preparation method and kit, comprising a mouthpiece (2) and at least one plastic strap (5; 21) with two ends (7) fitted with a slot (9) that is connected articulately to a respective cylindrical portion (11) of a lateral protrusion (10) of the mouthpiece (2). The slot (9) is closed and is longer in length than the diameter of the cylindrical portion (11), which can move along the slot (9). The strap (5; 21) acts by traction between the cylindrical portions (11) of the mouthpiece (2) to prevent the free return of the lower portion (4) with respect to the upper portion (3) of the mouthpiece (2) and therefore treats apnea, whilst allowing some advancement and lateral movement of the lower portion (4), making it comfortable for the user.

Abstract: A trephine drill bit comprising a body and a tip connected to the body, wherein the tip includes a reduced area having a smaller diameter than the body, the reduced area ending in a stop to indicate when the trephine drill bit should no longer be introduced. A method is also disclosed.
