  • Patent number: 11860851
Abstract: Systems and methods for guaranteeing the integrity of created within or transferred using a network of moving things. Different types of data from different data sources may be monitored, and various approaches to validating such data may be employed using expected data characteristics, alternate data sources, and historical information to help maximize the likelihood that data destined for a particular destination is available when needed, and is found to be valid and reliable.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 27, 2016
Date of Patent: January 2, 2024
    Assignee: VENIAM, INC.
Inventors: Nuno Alexandre Tavares Coutinho, Daniel Cardoso de Moura, Eduardo da Cruz Antunes Moreira da Mota
  • Patent number: 11362882
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for optimal and adaptive urban scanning using self-organized fleets of autonomous vehicles. A mobile access point (MAP) may obtain, while operating within a communication network comprising one or more mobile access points (MAPs) and one or more fixed access points (FAPs), sensory information relating to an infrastructure utilized by the MAPs. The MAP may store the sensory information, may determine when access to a central entity, configured for managing the infrastructure and/or the communication network, is available via at least one fixed access point (FAP), and when access to the central entity is available, communicate the obtained sensory information. The MAP may include on-board sensors for directly obtaining at least some of the sensory information. The MAP may obtain at least some of the sensory information from fixed sensors deployed within or near the infrastructure. The MAP may comprise an autonomous vehicle (AV).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 9, 2018
Date of Patent: June 14, 2022
    Assignee: VENIAM, INC.
Inventor: Eduardo da Cruz Antunes Moreira da Mota
  • Patent number: 11128734
Abstract: Communication network architectures, systems and methods for supporting a network of mobile nodes. As a non-limiting example, various aspects of this disclosure provide communication network architectures, systems, and methods for supporting a dynamically configurable communication network comprising a complex array of both static and moving communication nodes (e.g., the Internet of moving things).

  • Publication number: 20190066409
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for measuring performance of fleets of autonomous vehicles. Measuring performance in an autonomous vehicle may include determining a particular state of the autonomous vehicle, from one or more supported states and with each state including one or more actions associated with a particular function or objective, one or more metrics defined for assessing performance for the state and one or more parameters associated with each of the one or more metrics; obtaining real-time data relating to one or more parameters corresponding to at least one metric associated with the current state; processing the real-time data; and assessing performance of the autonomous vehicle with respect to the current state based on the processing of the real-time data. Processing the real-time data may include classifying the data, and performance may be assessed based on the classifying of the data.
