Publication number: 20220073994Abstract: The present invention discloses an in vitro method for obtaining DNA methylation biomarkers as exquisite DNA methylation positions in the human genome (i.e., CGIDs) that predict cervical cancer especially at as yet inaccessible early stages by examining progression of “categorical” DNA methylation alterations in three stages of premalignant lesions (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN)), progressing from CIN1 to CIN3. The present invention discloses combinations of CGIDs for detecting with high specificity and sensitivity cervical cancer by measuring their DNA methylation status and deriving a “methylation score”, which is useful as a biomarker for cervical cancer. Also disclosed are kits for predicting cervical cancer using such CGIDs using multiplexed next generation sequencing methylation assays, pyrosequencing assays and methylation specific PCR.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2020Publication date: March 10, 2022Inventors: Moshe Szyf, David Cheishvili, Eduardo Franco, Mariam El-Zein

Patent number: 10543004Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices provide for a bone centering drill guide. The bone centering drill guide may include a clamping mechanism which clamps to a bone in a pivotable fashion. The proximal end of the clamping mechanism includes a handle portion having a first arm and a second arm which is configured to allow a user to grip the device and exert force which urges the first and second arms toward each other. The distal end includes a clamping portion having first and second arms which are urged into a closed configuration when closing force is provided to the handle portion. The proximal end may further include a locking mechanism which locks the clamping device in a clamped configuration. The bone centering drill guide may further include a guide slot disposed on the distal end above the clamping arms, the slot configured to remain centered between the first and second clamping arms.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2016Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: OsteoMed LLCInventors: Randall W. Viola, Nicholas Monks, Joseph Pepin, Eduardo Franco

Patent number: 10537371Abstract: The present disclosure describes various embodiments of a plate and guide that enable fixation of a fractured bone while reducing damage to tissue in the vicinity of the fractured bone. The plate may be sized and dimensioned such that the plate may be slid underneath a muscle or other tissue and positioned into a proper location for providing fixation of the plate to the fractured bone without requiring cutting of the muscle or other tissue. The guide may be sized and dimensioned to interface with the plate such that the guide is place over the top of the muscle or other tissue, thereby enabling the guide to be used for providing screws or other devices (e.g., rods, K-wires, etc.) to the plate in a proper orientation to provide fixation to the fractured bone without requiring cutting of the muscle or other tissue.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2016Date of Patent: January 21, 2020Assignee: OsteoMed LLCInventors: Randall W. Publication number: 20170130433Abstract: A protective covering for a cabinet, the protective covering comprising a water resistant, flexible sheet with dimensions substantially similar to a front face of the cabinet. The flexible sheet is removably attached to the front face of the cabinet via one or more adhesive tabs present on a rear face of the flexible sheet. The flexible sheet further comprises one or more pockets horizontally positioned along a bottom margin of the flexible sheet.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2015Publication date: May 11, 2017Inventor: Eduardo Franco

Publication number: 20120290698Abstract: Users of Internet messaging services that are initially identified using separate identifiers that may be associated with respective service providers (e.g., email addresses) can manage network identities using a single unified set of account information managed by a registry service. When a second user wishes to communicate with a first user, the second user provides any service provider identity that is believed to be associated with the first user to determine if the specified service provider identity appears to match the intended subscriber. If so, the second user may specify a nickname (unique to the second subscriber but not necessarily globally unique) to be associated internally within the registry with the internal unique identifier of the first subscriber as part of the second subscriber's user record.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2012Publication date: November 15, 2012Applicant: PICUP, LLCInventors: Liore Alroy, David Lando, Eduardo Francos, Itamar Hassin, Ariel Rabkin

Patent number: 8190884Abstract: Users of Internet services (e.g., SKYPE messaging service, GOOGLETALK messaging service, AOL INSTANT MESSENGER messaging service, and MICROSOFT MESSENGER messaging service) that are initially identified using separate identifiers that may be associated with respective service providers (e.g., email addresses) can manage network identities using a single unified set of account information managed by a registry service. The registry authenticates the user's request(s) to bind a service provider identity to his or her personal registry user record. The registry internally associates the service provider identity to an internal unique identifier that is not exposed to subscribers. When a second user wishes to communicate with a first user, the second user provides any service provider identity that is believed to be associated with the first user to determine if the specified service provider identity appears to match the intended subscriber.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2008Date of Patent: May 29, 2012Assignee: Picup, LLCInventors: Liore Alroy, David Lando, Eduardo Francos, Itamar Hassin, Ariel Rabkin
