Patent number: 10743168Abstract: Provided is method, system, and computer program product for reducing telecommunication network congestion during a high call volume event by prioritizing subscriber calls. A processor may receive a notification of an ongoing emergency at a location. The processor may activate an emergency mode at one or more call stations near the location. The processor may receive a plurality of calls at the one or more call stations from one or more callers, wherein the calls are not directed to an emergency service provider. The processor may determine a priority order for each of the calls based on a priority level assigned to each respective caller. The processor may allow the calls to be completed according to the priority order.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2019Date of Patent: August 11, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Dogukan Erenel, Steven D. Patent number: 9996332Abstract: Timing parameters that influence an install time interval for installing a product on computing machines in a test environment in accordance with an installation configuration option are identified. A test value of the timing parameter and a test value of the install time are determined for each of the computing machines. The test values of the timing parameter and the install time determined for the sample computing machines are analyzed to determine an install time calculation expression for the installation configuration option. For installation in accordance with the installation configuration option in a normal operating environment, a current value of each of the timing parameters of the predetermined install time calculation expression for the installation configuration option. The install time interval in the normal operating environment is estimated based on the current value of the timing parameters and the install time calculation expression.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2015Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Rand K. Patent number: 9729438Abstract: A system and computer-implemented method for cloud-based anonymous traffic routing is disclosed. The method may include receiving, from a client application by a router, network traffic identified for a destination. The method may include determining, for a set of internal cloud nodes distinct from both the client application and the destination, a set of internet protocol (IP) addresses including a first IP address for a first internal cloud node of the set of internal cloud nodes. The method may also include establishing an anonymity algorithm for cloud-based anonymous traffic routing, the anonymity algorithm configured to use the set of IP addresses. The method may also include routing, based on the anonymity algorithm, the network traffic to the first internal cloud node using the first IP address. The method may also include routing the network traffic from the set of internal cloud nodes to the destination identified by the client application.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2014Date of Patent: August 8, 2017Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Michal Broz, Steven D. Patent number: 9276869Abstract: An identity provider (IdP) discovery service operative at a service provider (SP) is described. In operation, and as valid requests are received by the SP via normal IdP-initiated flows, the SP builds-up knowledge about the relationship between the IdP (that redirected the request) and the initiator of the request. The IdP instance typically is inferred from an HTTP referrer field, and information about the initiator may be ascertained from client-specific information, such as client system IP address, client DNS domain, a domain of a user e-mail address, a target URL for the incoming request, or the value associated with a particular HTTP header field. This knowledge is maintained in one or more mapping table(s) that associate request attributes-to-IdP instance data. The mappings are then used to facilitate IdP discovery for a new incoming request to the SP that has been determined to originate from other than an IdP.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 2013Date of Patent: March 1, 2016Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: William D. Patent number: 9262727Abstract: A security compliance search engine is provided for searching one or more client computing devices for items of information that meet a security criteria identifying items of information containing confidential content. Results of the search are provided to an analysis engine for determining if the items of information identified by the search are being maintained in accordance with a security policy for ensuring the confidentiality of the confidential content. Results of the analysis may be used to generate a report or log and to generate a notification to the client computing device identifying any violations of the security policy and possible solutions for bringing the item of information into compliance with the security policy. In addition, an administrator may be notified of any violations so that corrective action may be taken.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2008Date of Patent: February 16, 2016Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Scott J. Patent number: 9122691Abstract: A remote file system application program interface (API) for a remote file system installable file system (IFS) and operating system file system. The remote file system API enables a file content searching program that performs a search on a mapped remote drive to pass the file system path to search and the search criteria regular expression pattern to the remote system for searching and the results are returned to the client system in an IO stream. Such an application program interface is useful in the area of network file systems, network mapped drives, and file content searching programs such as a global regular expression processor (grep).Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2010Date of Patent: September 1, 2015Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Scott J. Patent number: 8955153Abstract: An approach is provided to provide privacy control in a social network. In the approach, a first post is posted from a first user to a second user in the social network with the first post including private data belonging to the first user. Subsequent postings are monitored for the first user's private data. When the monitoring detects a second post of the first user's private data with the second post being from the second user to a third user in the social network, privacy controls are performed. The privacy controls mask the first user's private data from the third user so that the first user's private data inaccessible (not visible) to the third user.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2013Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Faheem Altaf, Steven Duane Clay, Eduardo N. Publication number: 20140165194Abstract: Protection against an attack which exploits an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) Encryption vulnerability includes receiving a ciphertext request utilizing an EncryptedKey element and detecting either a failure to decrypt the cipher value in the EncryptedData element or a failure to parse the resulting decrypted XML. Upon detecting the failure, a count of failures associated with the EncryptedKey element is incremented, and when the count exceeds a threshold number of failures, subsequent usage of the EncryptedKey element and delivery of the request to an application service are prevented. Optionally, a rejection message is returned to the requester.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2012Publication date: June 12, 2014Applicant: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: William Durward Dodd, Chunlong Liang, William J O'Donnell, Eduardo N Spring
