  • Publication number: 20070117006
Abstract: The embodiments generally relate to high performance anodes and electrolyte materials for use in solid oxide fuel cells, whereby the anodes are made of a copper-containing cermet material that is sintered at low temperatures. The embodiments further relate to methods of making electrodes and electrolytes at low sintering temperatures. The methods enable the use of catalytic materials in the electrodes that were not previously possible with conventional high sintering temperature techniques.

  • Publication number: 20050263393
Abstract: A system for and method of electrochemical testing of fuel cells, such as solid membrane fuel cells, is presented. The system and method allow for non-destructive testing of one or more solid membrane fuel cells. In particular, the system and method allow for testing a working first fuel cell in a testing fixture. The first fuel cell may be removed from the testing fixture without substantial damage to the first fuel cell and replaced by a second fuel cell. The second fuel cell may be electrochemically tested, removed without substantially damaging it, and the process repeated with additional fuel cells.

  • Publication number: 20050053819
Abstract: The invention relates to solid oxide fuel cell interconnects that connect two or more fuel cells to one another. The interconnects are coated with a catalyst capable of reforming a hydrocarbon fuel. The catalyst coating assists in reforming hydrocarbons used as a fuel source for the solid oxide fuel cell.
