  • Patent number: 7497267
Abstract: A locking mechanism for securing a jumper tube to a shunt tube in a well screen assembly for use in gravel packing features a jumper tube having a telescoping connector that extends to engage the shunt tube and a locking mechanism that extends the connector the proper distance and then locks the connector into place by engaging lugs that are connected to the jumper tube. An apparatus and method for securing a connector tube to a well screen assembly features a receiver that is attached to the well screen assembly and is configured to receive a connector tube and secure the connector tube into place with screws. The receiver can be mounted to the well screen assembly via the shunt tube, a top/middle-bottom ring assembly, directly to the base pipe.

  • Publication number: 20080128941
Abstract: A process for the additivation of synthetic fibres, artificial fibres and polymers conferring special properties to them, the process comprising the following steps: the encapsulation of an additive in the pores of a porous material; the incorporation of particles of the porous material (capsules) into the polymer matrix of the fibre; and spinning of the fibre; the capsule withstanding the temperatures and other conditions of the different manufacturing processes which the fibres might undergo and the introduction of the additive into the polymer matrix thereof, characterised in that the porous material is a metal oxide, a zeolite, an aluminophosphate, clay, a carbon material, a hybrid organic-inorganic material or a porous polymer.

  • Patent number: 6858632
Abstract: Novel derivatives of isosorbide mononitrate and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, which have vasodilating activity with a reduced effect of tolerance, of the general formula (I) in which A and B independently represent any of the groups —ONO2 and —Z—CO—R, wherein Z is an oxygen atom or sulphur atom and R is an alkyl C1-C4 group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, eventually substituted, or the group in which R1 is hydrogen, or an alkyl C1-C4 group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, eventually substituted, with the proviso that one of A or B is always —ONO2, but never both of them at the same time, when Z is an sulphur atom R is an alkyl C1-C4 group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, eventually substituted, and when Z is an oxygen atom R is the group

  • Publication number: 20050037682
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of constructing a flat woven light-weight fabric and the use of this fabric for the production of a seat cover. The method comprises the steps of selecting a flat woven heavy-weight fabric having a weight of 260 to 340 g/m2, said heavy-weight fabric showing a decorative pattern; determining the warp and weft yarn titer, the warp and weft density of said heavy-weight fabric; modelling different weave designs by systematically decreasing the warp yarn titer, the weft yarn titer, the warp density and/or the weft density in the weave design program; comparing each of the obtained weave designs with the pattern of the heavy-weight fabric and selecting that weave design which shows the same decorative pattern as the heavy-weight fabric and which has a weight being at least 20% lower than that of the heavy-weight fabric; and weaving a fabric accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20030075237
Abstract: A dispensing device delivers at least two detergent compositions in fixed amounts and fixed ratios. The device is refillable and may be used in a method of washing fabrics in a machine or by hand. The device may also be used for other applications such as dishwashing, floor cleaning, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20030069985
Abstract: A computer readable medium and method are disclosed for providing streaming video by compressing the video data in a cascaded fashion. Initially, a computer system compresses video data to a first intermediate data file using a first transform. Next, the computer system compresses the first intermediate data file to a second intermediate data file using a second transform. The second intermediate data file is then compressed to a streaming video data file using a third transform. The streaming video data is then recorded onto a computer readable medium as streaming video data. In one embodiment, the first intermediate data file is an MPEG-2 data file and the second intermediate data file is an unconstrained MPEG-1 data file. The first and second transforms may be carried out in transparent mode. The video data may be stored on the computer readable medium by burning, mastering, or the like.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for providing streaming video over a network by compressing video data in a cascaded fashion. Initially, the system compresses video data to a first intermediate data file using a first transform. Next, the system compresses the first intermediate data file to a second intermediate data file using a second transform. The second intermediate data file is then compressed to a streaming video data file using a third transform. • Patent number: 6152061
Abstract: A water-impervious material forms a protective envelope around the hull of a vessel. Interconnected pipe sections in a tubular opening around the upper edge of the envelope form a rigid frame to maintain the shape of the envelope. A pair of split rods pivotally connected at two points between pipe sections create a front collapsible portion of the envelope. The weight of the pipe sections in the front collapsible portion cause it to sink and pivot downwardly to allow a vessel to enter and exit the envelope. Ropes and blocks between the front portion and the floating piers are used to raise the front collapsible portion and the ropes tied to the vessel to maintain the front portion in place. The remainder of the envelope is fitted with a series of floats so that the envelope encircles the vessel to prevent marine growth on the hull of the vessel. Counterweights on ropes through pier blocks and connected to the envelope around its perimeter maintain it in place around the vessel.

  • Patent number: 5279244
Abstract: An anti-fouling protector in the form of flexible envelope complementary to the underwater body of a vessel's hull is negatively buoyant and, when not in use, is stored on the bottom of a mooring slip. The invention includes structural features of the slip for guiding endless ropes fixed to the envelope for raising it around the vessel's underwater body when the vessel is moored in the slip, just before a vessel leaves the slip, lanyards connected to the envelope are detached from the vessel and the envelope sinks to its storage position on the bottom of the slip, where anchored lower rope guides prevent the envelope from being moved away by current.
