  • Patent number: 6477763
Abstract: A method for making a wire-wound rotating part for an electrically driven machine, wherein a sheet metal pack and a commutator spaced therefrom are attached to a shaft, and conductive strands are wound around the sheet pack and the commutator to form a generally ring shaped winding. The method further comprises axially compressing the winding and simultaneously moving the commutator closer to the sheet pack. The method is particularly useful for making electric fans for motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 6229239
Abstract: A double excitation, rotating electrical machine mounted on a shaft includes a rotor whereof the magnetic circuit carries at least one excitation element and a stator whereof the magnetic circuit carries a stator coil. The at least one excitation element includes at least a ring-shaped magnet associated with at least two disks each provided with radial teeth evenly distributed at their periphery and at least a ring-shaped part provided with slots in each of which is engaged contactless, one tooth of at least one toothed disk, and the stator magnetic circuit includes an even number, not less than two, of ring-shaped elements of magnetic circuit, at least an excitation stator coil being arranged between at least two neighboring elements among the magnetic circuit elements.

  • Patent number: 5952758
Abstract: A rotating electrical machine including a rotor (2), the magnetic circuit of which carries excitation members, and a stator (16), the magnetic circuit of which carries a stator coil. The magnetic circuit of the rotor includes a shaft (1) on which are mounted end flanges (3) and at least one toothed disk (4) disposed between the end flanges, the teeth of the toothed disk being regularly spaced at its periphery, and at least one annular member (9) mounted on the end flanges and having slots (10) regularly distributed at its periphery and in each of which is engaged one tooth of at least one toothed disk. The end flanges and the toothed disk are spaced apart by gaps in which excitation members (14, 15) are accommodated.

  • Patent number: 5813489
Abstract: In an assembly consisting of a heat exchanger, such as a cooling radiator for the internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, together with a motorized fan unit mounted on the finned body of the heat exchanger for providing a forced draught through the latter, the motorized fan unit comprises an electric motor fixed on the heat exchanger body and driving a fan rotor which lies facing a major face of the heat exchanger body. A bundle of electric cables extending from the motor extends along at least part of that major face. The assembly includes an electrical connecting means including the bundle of cables and fastening means which holds the bundle of cables flat against the heat exchanger body and out of any contact with the fan rotor.

  • Patent number: 5638894
Abstract: The electrical supply cable for the motorized fan unit of a fan assisted heat exchanger, for example the cooling radiator for a motor vehicle internal combustion engine in which the radiator comprises a matrix consisting of tubes with cooling fins, extends through the matrix via a bore through the latter in which the cable is guided by an insulating member disposed within the matrix. The cable therefore does not pass along the face of the matrix on which the motorized fan unit is attached, so that damage to the cable is avoided. The cable may be replaced by conductive elements which are encapsulated in the insulating member itself, these conductive elements cooperating with contacts of the motorized fan unit and of an external connector.
