    Abstract: Systems and methods for notification of presence of emergency vehicles are described. The system includes an acoustic receiver to be mounted on a car, and a detection circuit connected with the car radio receiver. As soon as the detection circuit detects presence of an emergency vehicle near the car, it lowers the volume of the car radio receiver, thus allowing the car's driver to be alerted of the presence of the emergency vehicle.
