  • Patent number: 7963766
Abstract: The present invention provides an orthodontic appliance including a unitary appliance body positionable about a portion of a single dental arch, where the appliance body may define a lingual portion, a labial-buccal portion, and a contoured portion therebetween. The appliance body may further define an anterior portion and a posterior portion, as well as a first wire coupled to the appliance body, with the first wire extending from the lingual portion of the appliance body to the labial-buccal portion of the appliance body. In addition, a first portion of the first wire may be embedded in the appliance body while a second portion of the first wire extends from the posterior portion of the appliance body. The appliance may further include a second wire disposed about the appliance body between the first wire and the anterior portion of the appliance body. A series of appliances may be used to shift a patient's bite to proper bite orientation.

  • Patent number: 7416407
Abstract: A generally horseshoe shaped clear flexible resilient plastic wire-imbedded orthodontic appliance is made with a plastic portion with contours on the lingual side and on the labial side, wherein the contours snugly cover the patient's teeth so that the appliance remains in place. One or more flexible wires are imbedded within the lingual side of the plastic portion from the left molar area to the right molar area of the plastic portion, whereby the wires apply force on the lingual side of the patient's bite.

  • Patent number: 5291143
Abstract: A modulator with improved damping comprises a charging network which limits the rate at which energy is transferred into a pulse forming network, and a switch to discharge the energy stored in the pulse forming network when the network has charged to a predetermined energy level. The pulse forming network discharges into the primary winding of a transformer which couples the energy to its secondary winding which routes the energy to an RF power generating tube. The modulator also includes an improved damping network which places a diode and resistor electrically in parallel with each other, and both in series with the switch to reduce the magnitude of the post-pulse voltage oscillations.

  • Patent number: 4893093
Abstract: An improved, switched, power splitter is described in which a high frequency input signal is applied via an input to a plurality of amplifiers. First transmission lines are connected between the input and each of the amplifiers, the impedance of each of the first transmission lines being alterable to either a high or low level. A balanced resistance network is preferably coupled between the first transmission lines. Second transmission lines are connected in shunt across the first transmission lines, the impedance of each second transmission line being alterable to an impedance which is a predetermined percentage of the circuits input impedance. A control circuit switches the various transmission lines so that the impedance at the input remains balanced, no matter how many of the first transmission lines are in the high impedance state.

  • Patent number: 4595891
Abstract: A microwave combiner arrangement for isolatingly combining a plurality of microwave inputs with pairs of isolation resistors, each of the resistors of a pair being combined to a common terminal. The common terminals are in turn interconnected by wavelength-long conductors. Adjacent pairs of inputs are additionally connected by quarter wavelength conductors to corresponding outputs. The outputs are in turn connected in half wavelength connections to a final output terminal.
