  • Patent number: 7174688
Abstract: A filter assembly is provided that has a filtering screen and a skeletal structure, the skeletal structure being attached to the filtering screen. At least one of the filtering screen and the skeletal structure form a plurality of downward extending channels.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 1, 2005
Date of Patent: February 13, 2007

  • Publication number: 20050257432
Abstract: An elongated strip of extruded plastic or roll formed metal material includes a rear securing fifth plane that inserts beneath a roofing membrane of a building structure. The rear plane integrally connects to a forward extending perforated fourth plane by means of a u shaped channel, one of two u shaped channels, which additionally serve to receive and secure a lateral edge of a filtration membrane. The perforated fourth plane contains intrinsic and intersecting vertical water directing planes that extend above and beneath the surface of the fourth plane and which serve to support and contact an overlying insertable filtration membrane. The fourth plane connects to a forward extending third plane by means of a u shaped channel that serves to receive and secure a lateral edge of a filtration membrane. The third plane connects to a second plane by means of a downward extending u shaped channel.

  • Patent number: 6598352
Abstract: An elongated strip of extruded plastics material includes a vertical rear plane adapted to seat on the rear portion of a gutter-hanging bracket. The rear vertical plane integrally connects to a second forward extending plane that joins, by means of an underlying u-shaped channel, a v-shaped perforated third plane that forces water to pool and drop through the perforations. The third plane joins, by means of an underlying u-shaped channel, a flange that projects outwardly for retaining the strip to a gutter. A filter configuration comprised of a debris repelling membrane, overlying a skeletal structure of ellipsoid rods spaced and resting on vertical planes, serves to break the forward flow of water and to channel water onto and through its integral perforated horizontal plane. The filter configuration is readily inserted into the u-shaped channels existing on the forward and rear edges of the v-shaped perforated third plane.

  • Publication number: 20030046876
Abstract: A gutter shield device for mounting in the open topof a gutter attached to the edge of a roof. The gutter shield device includes an extruded uni-body comprised of a first horizontal plane that rests of the front lip of a rain gutter. The first plane has an underlying u-shped channel that joins a second downwardly angled perforated plane that directs water away from the front of a rain gutter. The second perforated plane joins, at its lower edge, an upward extending veritcal support leg. The vertical support leg joins a downwardly and inwardly extending (referenced from the top edge of the backwall of a rain gutter) perforated third plane. The combination of the second and third perforated planes, joined at the middle by an upward extending vertical support leg, form an extended v-shaped well that breaks the forward flow of water, forcing it to pool backwards encouraging it to flow through, rather than channel around, perforations.
