  • Patent number: 10764128
Abstract: This application discloses a method for commissioning an electronic device in a smart home environment. The electronic device receives from a client device signals that are encoded with communication data. The client device executes a client-side application associated with a user account that generates the encoded signals. The encoded communication data includes at least one or more network credentials of a local area network, and an authentication token that provides sufficient information to identify the user account. The electronic device generates a link approval request including the authentication token, and device identification information that identifies the electronic device. The electronic device then accesses the local area network using the network credentials provided by the client device, and sends the link approval request to a server via the local area network for association with the user account and addition to the smart home environment.

  • Patent number: 10668555
Abstract: A welding tip (20) for spot welding a first part (22) formed of conductive metal, for example aluminum, to a second part (24) formed of aluminum or another conductive metal, such as steel, is provided. The welding tip (20) includes a notch (30) at a distal end (38) and a convex contact surface (28) extending radially outwardly and upwardly from the notch (30) for engaging a surface of the first part (22). The rotating welding tip (20) forms a depression (32) on the surface of the first part (22) during the welding process. The notch (30) creates a pin (34) in the center of the depression (32) which provides a fixed axis of rotation for the rotating welding tip (20) and prevents the welding tip (20) from moving radially relative to the fixed axis, thereby improving the quality of the final spot weld (36) and reducing process time.

  • Publication number: 20200073470
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed method for controlling instantaneous current changes in parallel processors with arrays of parallel computing elements, such as neural processors. An exemplary method comprises monitoring the array of computing elements and determining a transition from a first activity level of the array to a second activity level of the array, such as an idle-to-active or active-to-idle transition. Once a transition is determined, the array is selectively controlled to minimize the instantaneous current change from the transition from the first activity level to the second activity level.

  • Publication number: 20200062384
Abstract: An aircraft is operable to transition between thrust-borne lift in a VTOL orientation and wing-borne lift in a biplane orientation. The aircraft includes an airframe having first and second wings with first and second pylons extending therebetween forming a central region. A two-dimensional distributed thrust array and a flight control system are coupled to the airframe. A nose cone and an afterbody are each selectively coupled to the airframe. In a cargo delivery flight configuration, the nose cone and the afterbody are coupled to the airframe such that the nose cone and the afterbody each extend between the first and second wings and between first and second pylons to form a cargo enclosure with an aerodynamic outer shape. In a minimal drag flight configuration, the nose cone and the afterbody are not coupled to the airframe such that air passes through the central region during flight.

  • Publication number: 20190384762
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of querying a source dataset in which a user provides a query to a dataset querying system. The system automatically processes both the dataset and the query, so that processing the query influences the processing of the dataset, and/or processing the dataset influences the processing of the query. The system automatically processes the query and the dataset to derive a probabilistic inference of the intent behind the query. The user interacts with the relevance-ranked attempts to answer that query and the system then iteratively improves or varies how it initially processed the query and the dataset, to dynamically generate and display further relevance-ranked attempts to answer that query, to enable the user to iteratively explore the dataset or reach a useful answer.
