  • Patent number: 4255621
Abstract: A billing interface circuit for controlling the billing of a station of a private branch exchange via a telephone central office. This circuit automatically connects an intercept recorder to the operator requesting time and charges while providing ring back tone to the station. Therefore, the attendant at the private branch exchange is relieved of the task of manually interfacing between the station and the telephone central office to request time and charges information for billing.

  • Patent number: 4007333
Abstract: An automatic call transmitter which uses a dual tone multifrequency generator first under the control of a pushbutton set to record, on a recording medium, a series of dual tones corresponding to a telephone number to be called, and which then uses this generator to regenerate pairs of voice frequencies corresponding to the recorded dual tones, under the control of switching means rendered frequency responsive by associated tuning means and selectively operated from the recorded tones upon playback to transmit the telephone number over a line. The automatic call transmitter may be in the form of a telephone reporting unit and the recording medium, such as an endless magnetic tape wound on a cartridge may also be used for recording and/or transmitting an oral message.

  • Patent number: 3965304
Abstract: An intercept arrangement by which on calls incoming to a key telephone system the calling party is provided with one and only one complete recorded message within a relatively short time so that the number of abondoned calls caused by excessive delays in answering is reduced. The arrangement includes ring counting, transfer and intercept trunk circuits on a one-per-line basis and a common intercept recorder. The trunk circuit has a monitor feature to provide a form of calling party release for all offices, and a standby-music facility which becomes effective after the transmission of the message.

  • Patent number: 3946291
Abstract: Apparatus for remotely controlling the motor tape drive mechanism of an audio tape recorder or the like. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a plurality of semiconductors controlled by a low-level logic circuit and a diode switching network for selectively varying the current through the forward drive motor and the rewind motor of the mechanism to properly tension the tape between a take-up reel and a rewind reel and to differentially brake the motors when switching from a particular mode of operation to "stop" or in case of power failure, thereby preventing tape spillage.
