  • Patent number: 4791983
Abstract: An assembly for cooling an array of IC packages which have respective non-coplanar heat dissipating surfaces, comprises: a frame that is attachable to the array and has multiple beams, each of which is positioned to overlie some of the IC packages; respective liquid-cooling jackets for the IC packages with each jacket having a heat absorbing face; each jacket being mounted via a post that is loosely fitted through a respective hole in one of the beams in proximity with a respective one of the IC packages; and each jacket mounting providing a flexible connection which allows the jacket's heat absorbing face to be placed at multiple angles and different heights, and thereby coincide with the non-coplanar heat dissipating surface of an IC package.

  • Patent number: 4232217
Abstract: A drive system for processing passbook data includes a bi-directional stepper motor responsive to programmed input signals, cam sets rotated by the stepper motor for initiating data sensing, document positioning, and data transfer operations, and cam followers actuated by the contour of their associated rotating cam sets for moving their reacting components to perform those operations. Appropriate cam followers cause a pressure plate and sensor to move toward and sense coded data on a document, a gate to open and close to position the document for further processing, and a print platen to advance toward the document, provide a backing during data transfer, and then retract.

  • Patent number: 3935372
Abstract: An improved circuit modification method is provided for wire-wrapped electrical back planes such that changes in the back plane circuitry may be accomplished in areas remote from a production facility where wire-wrap equipment and highly skilled technicians may not be available, such method involving the preparation of a slip-on, post-terminal-compatible printed circuit board at the production facility, delivery of the printed circuit board to the remote area, and the slip-on attachment of the printed circuit board onto the post terminals of the back plane by a repairman who may be unfamiliar with the intricacies of the back plane and its wire-wrapped interconnections, said slip-on printed circuit board being inherently provided with whatever guidance may be required by the repairman in effectuating its installation on the back plane.
