Patent number: 7273021Abstract: A wild bird game feeder, having a cylindrical shell with a closed flat bottom and a lid which is removable or which has a bung, through which game bird feed may be introduced. Within the interior of the cylindrical shell is a partition and partition top which defines and encloses a smaller subspace within the interior space of the cylindrical shell. An opening in the partition allows feed to flow into the smaller space. An access opening is defined in the sidewall of the cylindrical shell, giving external access to the smaller space within the partition and partition top. A curvilinear hood is positioned medially above the access opening. A perch or ledge is provided along the bottom edge of the access opening for the benefit of smaller game birds.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2005Date of Patent: September 25, 2007Inventor: Ralph Edward Russell

Patent number: 6911817Abstract: A wheel-speed sensor for generating signals representative of the wheel-speed of an individual wheel on a vehicle. Unlike known wheel-speed sensors, the wheel-speed sensor in accordance with the present invention is readily serviceable without disassembly of major components of the wheel assemblies and is relatively simple, and thus less expensive to manufacture, than known wheel-speed sensors. Two embodiments of the wheel-speed sensor in accordance with the present invention are disclosed. One embodiment relates to a “between-the-rows” wheel-speed sensor which includes a magnetic exciter ring that is adapted to be affixed to a rotating axle between rolling element rows of a wheel bearing. In an alternate embodiment of the invention, the wheel-speed sensor is configured to form a grease seal which typically inserts into the end of an axle tube. A wheel-speed sensor utilizes a multiple pole magnetic exciter ring that is adapted to be attached to a rotating axle shaft.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2002Date of Patent: June 28, 2005Assignee: American Electronics Components, Inc.Inventor: Edward Russell Clark

Patent number: 6223303Abstract: The present invention provides a method of operating a disk drive having data sites on a disk for recording data thereon. The disk drive is connectable to a host computer and maintains a defect table comprising defective sites reportable to the host computer. The method includes the step of discovering a defective data site on the disk. The defective data site is bounded with a first tier of marginal data sites which are selected based on their proximity to the defective data site. The first tier of marginal data sites is bounded with a second tier of reserved data sites which are selected based on their proximity to the first tier of marginal data sites. The locations of the defective data site, the first tier of marginal data sites and the second tier of reserved data sites are stored in a defect table. The defective data sites and the first tier of marginal data sites are marked as defective sites reportable to the host.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1998Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Western Digital CorporationInventors: Russell A. Patent number: 5617570Abstract: A server for executing operation calls by a client, including a dispatcher, a plurality of worker tasks, and a dispatcher shared memory area and worker control block for each worker task. Each operation call provided from a client is a sequence or one or more remote procedure call requests and each includes a packed buffer containing parameters. The dispatcher receives a buffer directly into the dispatcher shared memory space of the worker task selected to execute the remote procedure call request, sets the semaphore and sends a request acceptance response. The selected worker task unpacks the buffer into its memory space, executes the request, places the results into a packed buffer in its dispatcher shared memory area and sends a remote procedure call to the dispatcher. The dispatcher executes a remote procedure call to the client and sends the result buffer directly from the shared memory area.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1993Date of Patent: April 1, 1997Assignee: Wang Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: Edward A. Each connection control block identifies a connection and each client control block a client. Each session control block corresponds to a client control block establishes a session between a client and a connection and identifies the session, tile connection, and the server. Each session is established solely through a corresponding session control block and each operation is identified by the corresponding session identification. The connection mechanism includes a stack mechanism for storing at least one operation stack. Each operation stack corresponds to an operation to be executed through the corresponding connection and includes the session identifier and at least one operation request that is to be executed to execute the operation.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1993Date of Patent: September 3, 1996Assignee: Wang Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: Edward A. Patent number: 5455953Abstract: An authorization mechanism for providing authorization information for a client requesting access to a server resource in a server, including a directory server for storing client information required by the server in executing an operation call, including client access rights, and a generating a request for an authorization ticket to the server. The request for an authorization ticket includes an identification of the client and an identification of the client information required by the server and is in association with an operation call. The authorization mechanism generates an authorization ticket including the identified information and encrypted with an encryption key derived from the password of the server. The authorization ticket is sent to the server and the server decrypts the authorization ticket with the server password and obtains the client information directly, including the client access rights. Client information is stored in directory server fields identified by generic field tags.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1993Date of Patent: October 3, 1995Assignee: Wang Laboratories, Inc.Inventor: Edward A.
