  • Publication number: 20150240525
Abstract: A retention mechanism for retaining a lock cylinder in a lock housing. The retention mechanism includes a control lug, a control pin, and a finger pin. A portion of the control lug is configured to be positioned in a retention recess of the lock housing when the control lug is in an engagement position to prevent the removal of the lock cylinder from the lock housing. With the control lug in the engaged position, at least a portion of the control pin may be biased into a chamber of the control lug to retain the control lug at the engaged position. When the control lug is to be displaced from the engaged position, the finger pin may be lifted to an activation position, such as by a sidebit of a key, wherein the finger pin may removably displace the control pin from at least a portion of the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20140265376
Abstract: A door lock chassis has a gauge insert that defines different dimensions corresponding to different door thicknesses. The gauge insert is positionable in the lock chassis in different orientations corresponding to the different dimensions used to align the lock chassis for different door thicknesses. Additionally, a door lock may include an anti-rotation assembly for preventing rotation of the lock chassis. The anti-rotation assembly may include a retention member that is secured to an inside hub of a lock chassis. As an anti-rotation member is displaced in a first axial direction along the inside hub to a mount position, the anti-rotational member may deflect resilient members of the retention member. With the anti-rotation member at the mounted position, the anti-rotation member may be in a frictional engagement with the previously deflected resilient members so that anti-rotation member is retained at the mount position.

  • Publication number: 20140216114
Abstract: An exemplary lock cylinder includes a shell, a plug positioned in the shell, and a locking assembly. The locking assembly is configured to prevent rotation of the plug when no key is inserted, and to permit rotation of the plug upon insertion of any of a plurality of keys having different bitting profiles. The locking assembly may further be configured to prevent key extraction when the plug is in a rotated position.

  • Publication number: 20070246185
Abstract: A casting mold and method for its use to achieve in-mold modification of the casting metal is disclosed. One or more chambers are located within the casting mold's runner system. Each chamber can contain metallurgical modifiers for adjusting the chemical composition of the metal to improve the mechanical and physical properties of an article cast from the metal. One or more modifiers can be placed in the chamber(s) as the casting mold is assembled for use. As the melt is introduced to the casting mold, it passes through the chamber(s) and liquefies the modifier. Amounts of the liquid modifier, then, are carried away and become dispersed in the melt as it continues through the runner system and into the mold cavity. The metallurgical modifiers can be selected from any number of known additives or alloying elements, including strontium, among others.

  • Patent number: 6731239
Abstract: A system and method for providing information related to geographical sites based on position coordinates of a user information retrieval device. The user information retrieval device includes a positioning system unit, a transmitter, a receiver, and a user interface. The positioning system unit determines the position of the user information retrieval device and the transmitter transmits the position coordinates to a remote computer over a wireless network. A processor in the remote computer gathers information relating to geographical sites within a given distance of the position coordinates of the user information retrieval device. A transmitter in the remote computer transmits the information relating to the geographical sites to the user information retrieval device.

  • Patent number: 5692690
Abstract: An apparatus for winding continuously produced cable about a take-up spool includes a frame, a traveler assembly, multiple take-up spool assemblies, and a translation system for automatically moving the traveler assembly into an aligned position with each spool assembly. The traveler assembly is movably mounted to the frame for receiving and for paying out continuously produced cable. Each spool assembly comprises a pair of opposing arms and a cable snagger. Each pair of opposing arms is configured to rotatably mount a spool therebetween. The cable snagger is secured to a member rotatably mounted on one arm and is configured to extend through an aperture in a flange of a spool in order to engage a free end of a continuously produced cable. A release mechanism for disengaging the snagger from the cable, once at least one wrap of the cable has been wound about the spool, is also provided.
