  • Patent number: 9662767
Abstract: A sanding drum assembly in one embodiment includes at least one elastic friction member defining an outer perimeter, a plurality of feet located inwardly of the at least one elastic friction member, each of the plurality of feet including a movable portion movable between a first position whereat the plurality of feet define a first outermost circumference and a second position whereat the plurality of feet define a second outermost circumference, wherein the second outermost circumference is larger than the first outermost circumference, and an actuator, wherein the plurality of feet and the actuator are configured such that as the actuator and the plurality of feet change from a first configuration to a second configuration, the plurality of feet are forced from the first position to the second position.

  • Patent number: 9302405
Abstract: An accessory for a power tool includes a mounting portion configured to mate with an oscillating drive member of a power tool and a substantially planar guide portion extending forwardly of the mounting portion to a leading edge and defining a guide plane. A cantilever arm is located between the mounting portion and the leading edge. The cantilever arm extends downwardly from the guide plane and forwardly toward the leading edge. A plurality of teeth extends from a forward portion of the cantilever arm.

  • Patent number: 9242362
Abstract: A power tool includes a variable speed motor coupled to a drive member. A power circuit electrically connects the variable speed motor to a power source. A variable speed signal generator generates a variable speed control signal indicating an operating speed for the motor. The operating speed is dependent upon a value of a variable speed selection signal generated by a slide switch. The slide switch includes a linear slide potentiometer for generating the variable speed selection signal. An actuator slides along the potentiometer to control the value of the selection signal. The slide switch includes an ON/OFF contact and a lever arm that is movable into and out of contact with the ON/OFF contact. The actuator is configured to prevent the lever arm from contacting the ON/OFF contact when the actuator is in an OFF position in relation to the slide potentiometer thereby opening the power circuit.

  • Patent number: 9027452
Abstract: An accessory for a power tool, includes a mounting portion configured to mate with an oscillating drive member of a power tool. A support arm portion extends from the mounting portion in a first direction. The support arm portion includes an inner edge that faces in a second direction transverse to the first direction. A blade portion extends from the support arm generally in the second direction. The blade portion includes a trailing edge arranged facing generally toward the mounting portion and a leading edge arranged facing generally away from the mounting portion. The trailing edge and the leading edge portion meet to define a pointed tip portion.

  • Patent number: 8499674
Abstract: An accessory tool is configured to be coupled to a power tool having a tool drive structure. The accessory tool includes a spring component and has a first arm and a second arm attached to the spring component. The first arm includes (i) a first proximal end portion defining a first accessory drive structure that is configured to mate with a first portion of the tool drive structure, and (ii) a first distal end portion having a first holding structure. The second arm is spaced apart from the first arm and includes (i) a second proximal end portion defining a second accessory drive structure that is configured to mate with a second portion of the tool drive structure, and (ii) a second distal end portion having a second holding structure.
