Publication number: 20240182227Abstract: A pod for storing and dispensing a beverage preparation ingredient during a dispensing operation. The pod comprises a body (202) defining a cavity for storing the beverage preparation ingredient. Said body comprises a closed surface having a central axis (B); and a side wall (210) disposed around the central axis, extending from the closed surface (214) in a direction away from the closed surface, wherein an edge (216) of the side wall distal from the closed surface defines a dispensing side of the body. The pod further comprises a closing member for closing the dispensing side and scaling the cavity. The body further defines an actuation member (204) extending from the closed surface of the pod towards the dispensing side. The actuation member being configured to exert a force on the closing member to cause an opening to be formed between the cavity and a region outside of the pod around the perimeter of the wall at the dispensing side.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2022Publication date: June 6, 2024Inventors: Edward Alexander Bedford, David Marc Goldstein, Joseph Damigella, Wayne Farrar

Patent number: 11727305Abstract: The present disclosure is for systems and methods for connecting offline machine learning training systems with online near-real time machine learning scoring systems. It is not trivial to connect an offline training environment with an online scoring environment. For example, offline training environments are usually static and contain large amounts of historical data that is needed for the initial training of models. Once trained, the model algorithms are then migrated into an online scoring environment for transactional or event based scoring. This migration effectively breaks the connection between the data in the offline environment and the model now running in the online environment. When new or shifting data occurs in the online environment, the static model running in the online environment goes unaltered to the changing inputs. The present disclosure solves the issues that are caused by the break in the offline and online environments.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2020Date of Patent: August 15, 2023Inventors: Edward Alexander Fly, Trent McDaniel

Patent number: 11555386Abstract: A plunger includes a sleeve having a passage therethrough and a valve member in the passage. When the plunger falls in a production string of a hydrocarbon well, the valve member is open and allows gas flow through the plunger. When the plunger contacts a liquid slug in the production string, the valve closes so that pressure from below reverses movement of the plunger so it pushes liquid above the plunger toward the earth's surface and ultimately to a well head where liquid and gas are separated.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2021Date of Patent: January 17, 2023Inventors: William Charles Harris, Edward Alexander Wells
