  • Patent number: 10675914
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus designed to engage tire chains on motorized vehicles when hazardous road conditions are present, including snow or ice. Moreover, the chains are designed to be deployed manually from inoperative to operative positioning by raising and lowering the apparatus handle. A rotating quick deploy chain wheel at the bottom of the apparatus throws a plurality of chains between the tire and road surface generating vehicle traction. This utility patent for tire chains will provide a cost effective, simple method for putting on and taking off snow tire chains. Existing automatic chain systems characteristically require electronics, motors or a pneumatic system. The embodiment of this apparatus is the simplicity of locking a handle and the chains are engaged. Releasing the handle and the chains are disengaged.

  • Publication number: 20120127833
Abstract: A system for transmitting power and data through a solid medium includes a power signal transmitter configured to acoustically transmit power through the solid medium to a power signal receiver using a first frequency and a data signal transmitter configured to acoustically transmit data through the solid medium to a data signal receiver using a second frequency. The second frequency may be offset from the first frequency and from at least a first overtone of the first frequency. Furthermore, the data signal transmitter and data signal receiver may be positioned at a null of a pattern of acoustic waves produced by operation of the power signal transmitter. The system may further include a notch filter coupled to receive an electrical output of the data signal receiver, the notch filter being tuned to attenuate the first frequency.

  • Patent number: 4945294
Abstract: In this invention an all electronic circuit for moving and stopping an object is disclosed. The object is responsive to movement from a drive signal. The object is moved from a first position to a final position and is stopped without physical damping or substantial ringing and the like. The circuit provides for the generation of a first signal which moves the object from the first position to an intermediate position, which is between the first position and the final position. A second signal is generated where the second signal is a time delay signal of the first signal. The first and second signals are combined to produce the drive signal.

  • Patent number: 4544675
Abstract: In a process for reclaiming sulfur-vulcanized rubber in the presence of oil, water vapor and aryl disulfide peptizer at elevated pressure and temperature, an improvement where said disulfide is obtained as a mixture also containing dissolved volatile mercaptan which comprises treating said disulfide mixture by distillation prior to its use in said reclaim process to remove said volatile mercaptan.

  • Patent number: 3941816
Abstract: Stabilized oxichromic compounds are disclosed, along with processes for stabilizing oxichromic compounds. In one aspect, the stabilized compounds are O-acylated compounds which contain a reduced azomethine linkage. In another aspect, the stabilized compounds are O-acylated compounds which can undergo base catalyzed chromogenic oxidation to produce a yellow dye.
