  • Patent number: 11048376
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for rendering 3D text in a 3D environment. In aspects, a three dimensional (3D) object may be generated in a virtual reality, augmented reality, or mixed reality (MR) environment. A two dimensional (2D) graphical user interface (GUI) texture may be applied to a plane of the 3D object. A graphical control element, such as a text frame, and associated content may be rendered on the GUI texture. In some aspects, the graphical control element may be associated with editing controls that enable the dimensions and/or orientation of the graphical control element to be modified within the boundaries of the GUI texture and/or the 3D object.

  • Publication number: 20070240098
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for defining a default handler software application in response to an event at a computer. An event, for example, a user opening a file with a specific extension or accessing a uniform resource locator (URL) with a specific protocol, may trigger the operating system to instantiate a user-level default handler program associated with the event type and the specific user. Users may define user-level default handlers through a centralized user interface maintained by the operating system. During the application installation process, an application may register lists of supported events that the application is capable of handling.

  • Publication number: 20070233647
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for sharing items and viewing shared items in an operating system. A user may initiate a search that executes a query on the file system, returning a list of items owned by the user and shared out to other users. In order to increase efficiency and usability of such a query, an index may be created based on the owner and user permissions of the items in the file system. A user interface integrated into the operating system may display the shared items in a single flat list, or search folder, regardless of the various physical locations of the items on the system.
