  • Patent number: 4166603
Abstract: A scaffold is provided for poured concrete walls and forms which have a plurality of prefabricated form panels interconnected in an end-to-end fashion and are generally arranged in two opposing rows. Vertically spaced tie bars extend transversely between the opposing rows of form panels at each juncture thereof, and laterally interconnect the same. The scaffold comprises a rigid support arm member having an inward end detachably connected with one of the tie bars. The support arm extends substantially horizontally from the form panels and the outward end thereof is connected with the outer end of an angle brace member. The angle brace is positioned at an acute angle to the support arm, and includes an inward end which is shaped for detachable connection with another one of the tie bars for selectively retaining the support arm in a generally, substantially horizontal orientation.

  • Patent number: 4145024
Abstract: A form for poured concrete walls includes a plurality of prefabricated, interconnected form panels which are positioned end to end, in two, spaced apart rows to form a wall cavity therebetween. Each pair of associated, opposed form panels has at least two tie bars extending laterally between the panels in a mutually spaced apart and aligned relationship. A pair of mutually parallel and spaced elongate rods are positioned perpendicularly to each of the tie bars and are fixedly attached thereto, and rigidly align and hold the form panels in a set plumb and straight position. One of the rods is shaped for connecting reinforcing mesh thereto, and accurately and positively positions the mesh along a central, predetermined plane between the form panels for improved wall strength, reduced material usage and labor efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4116415
Abstract: A liner for concrete forms and method for making poured concrete walls comprises a liner body constructed of insulative material and shaped for positioning between a pair of interconnected form panels. The liner body has opposing sides, one of which is positioned abutting an interior surface of a first one of the panels. The other side of the liner body as a textured, decorative surface spaced from the other panels, and is contoured for molding concrete poured therebetween. A plurality of similarly shaped liner bodies are placed in a side-by-side relationship along the interior surface of each section of form panels, with the textured surface of each oriented inwardly. Unsolidified cementitous material, such as concrete, is poured into the cavity having a single insert therein or formed between opposing inserts, and is cured to a solidified state.

  • Patent number: 3995825
Abstract: An elongated form tie bar extends transversely across a concrete receiving space between facing side forms and has opposite end portions thereof each positioned between respective abutting side edge portions of adjacent side forms. The end portions of the tie bar are each adapted to receive respective form holding members for retaining the abutting side edge portions of adjacent side forms in abutting engagement. The tie bar is of carbon steel and has hardened fracture planes positioned relative to the opposite end portions and an intermediate portion thereof whereby after setting of the concrete wall and removal of the forms the end portions are adapted to be separated from the intermediate portion upon being struck a blow as by a hammer and the ends of the remaining intermediate portion are recessed in the concrete wall.
