  • Publication number: 20240167568
Abstract: A seal includes a longitudinally-extending body configured to fit in a sealing groove of a first mating component to provide primary sealing between the first mating component and a second mating component. The longitudinally-extending body includes a first end surface located at a first end of the longitudinally-extending body, and two side surfaces that are configured to contact respective surfaces of the sealing groove. A second end surface at a second end of the longitudinally-extending body is configured to contact a sealing surface of the second mating component. The seal includes a laterally-extending flange extending from the second end of the longitudinally-extending body through a crevice between the first mating component and the second mating component. The seal includes a flange sealing bead located on a distal end of the laterally-extending flange that is configured to provide secondary sealing between the first mating component and the second mating component in the crevice.

  • Patent number: 11732801
Abstract: A friction fit seal provides enhanced stability and installation as compared to conventional configurations. The seal includes a seal body having a longitudinal axis; a retention rib that extends from the seal body in a lateral direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis; and at least one stabilizer rib that extends from the seal body in the lateral direction and is spaced apart from the retention rib along the longitudinal axis. A lateral width of the stabilizer rib in the lateral direction is smaller than a lateral width of the retention rib. The seal may be a keyhole seal in which the seal body includes an inner surface and an outer surface, and the inner surface defines a hollow center that may be keyhole shaped. The seal may include a solid central main body, and the stabilizer ribs and the retention rib are configured as lobes that extend in the lateral direction from the solid central main body.

  • Patent number: 11391372
Abstract: A seal includes a first portion and a second portion, wherein the seal is configurable as a continuous seal having an overlapping region in which the first portion and the second portion overlap. The seal has a jigsaw seal configuration at the overlapping portion. The seal includes a transverse surface that extends between the inner surface and the outer surface of the seal, and a first sealing bead located at a junction between the transverse surface and the inner surface and a second sealing bead located at a junction between the transverse surface and the outer surface. The transverse surface may be recessed relative to the first and second sealing beads when the seal is in a non-compressed state.
