  • Publication number: 20240115198
Abstract: There is presented a wearable device (200) and corresponding system and method for sensing a substance ingested by a subject, for instance an intoxicating substance. The wearable device has a sensing arrangement extending between a first port (205a) and a second port (205b). The sensing arrangement includes two chambers, a pump and two flow-control devices. The first chamber is adapted to collect gas from a skin region of the subject. The second chamber has a sensor to sense the substance. The first flow-control device is provided at the first port (205a) and the second flow-control device is provided at the second port (205b). A controller is provided to control the pump and the sensor. The controller is operable in a first phase to sense a first gas sample from ambient environment, and a second phase to sense a second gas sample from a skin region of the subject.

  • Publication number: 20230057254
Abstract: A system, methods, and apparatus for preventing receptacle overfilling are presented. The system can include a sensor member configured to couple with a receptacle and sense a material level within the receptacle, such as via a sight glass of the receptacle. The system can include a controller in operable communication with the sensor member and configured to instantiate the shutoff of material flow from a material dispensing system if a particular material level is detected by the sensor member. The system can include an intermediate member configured to relay communications between the sensor member and the controller. The intermediate member can be coupled to a fluid line and can further act as a holster for the sensor member, such as by facilitating the coupling of the sensor member to the intermediate member and/or the fluid line.

  • Publication number: 20220135409
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus related to color centers. In one aspect, a method includes providing diamond doped with a dopant. A heavy-ion is directed to the diamond that passes through the diamond. The heavy-ion forms a line of dopant-vacancy centers as it passes through the diamond.

  • Patent number: 9116430
Abstract: In the proposed plasmonic nanolithography technique a transparent mask is brought into physical contact with a metal on a substrate that is coated with a photoresist. The mask is not made of metal or other material that supports surface plasmons. The metal layer is exposed to radiation of a characteristic vacuum wavelength through the mask and the photoresist or through the substrate. The mask features and the vacuum wavelength of the radiation are chosen so that the radiation excites surface plasmons at the interface between the metal and the photoresist. The excitation of surface plasmons allows for the exposure and generation of features which are well-below the free space diffraction limit and small compared to the size of the features in the mask.

  • Publication number: 20140234780
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to techniques for obtaining patterns of features. One set of techniques uses multiple-pass rolling mask lithography to obtain the desired feature pattern. Another technique uses a combination of rolling mask lithography and a self-aligned plasmonic mask lithography to obtain a desired feature pitch.

  • Publication number: 20080058174
Abstract: A carriage for use in a reformer exercise apparatus is disclosed that has a pair of upwardly extending folding shoulder stops mounted thereto at one end and a headrest between the shoulder stops that extends outward from the carriage toward the head end of the frame. A pair of roller wheels at the head end and a pair at the foot end of the carriage support the platform. A single common axle supports the head end pair of rollers from the carriage, forms a pivot support for the folding shoulder stops, and forms part of an adjustable position support assembly for the headrest. The shoulder stops are preferably attached to a tubular sleeve that rotates on the common axle.

  • Publication number: 20050113227
Abstract: A reformer exercise apparatus has a head end and a foot end and a pair of spaced apart parallel track members, a movable carriage mounted on the track members for movement between the head and foot end. One or more springs are connected between the carriage and an elastic member anchor bar and carriage stop assembly at the foot end. The anchor bar and carriage stop assembly adjustably positions the carriage, the anchor bar and the elastic members on the tracks to accommodate a wide range of user heights. Each end of the anchor bar is disposed in an elongated slot formed in each track member. The elongated slot has spaced gear teeth shaped openings defining spaced anchor bar stop or lock portions. The anchor bar can be moved between lock portions only when rotated to an unlocked position wherein the bar, coupled to the carriage, can slide along the track within the slot.
