  • Patent number: 11761128
Abstract: A method for modeling textile structures using bicontinuous surfaces includes selecting a virtual scaffold of bicontinuous surfaces defining textile fabrication pathways to model spatial relationships between the pathways and yarns in a desired yarn pattern of a textile fabric design. The method further includes constructing a yarn pathway across the bicontinuous surfaces that form the virtual scaffold. The method further includes removing or releasing tension from the virtual scaffold, thereby allowing yarns to relax and determining a physical property of the textile fabric design.

Date of Patent: September 19, 2023
Assignees: Drexel University, The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania
Inventors: Genevieve Eugenie Dion, Randall Kamien, Michael David Tanis, Amy Lynne Stoltzfus, Chelsea E. Amanatides, Toen Castle, David Edward Breen, Paras Wadekar

  • Patent number: 8621511
Abstract: A television converter system (16) comprises a receiver (94) for receiving a transmission signal from a transmission signal source. A processor (24) in the converter is capable of executing a plurality of independently executable application programs. A first one of the plurality of programs has a focused execution state. The remaining one or more application programs have a defocused execution state. The processor generates an application program output signal from the application program that currently has the focused execution state. An output provides either the transmission signal or the application program output signal for display on a television display. An input is received, requesting a transfer of focus from the first one of the plurality of programs to a second one of the plurality of application programs. The focus is transferred from the first application program to the second one of the plurality of programs for display on the television display.

  • Patent number: 8015584
Abstract: A method for interactive delivery of multimedia content includes accepting interactive multimedia content encoded in a multiplexed data stream, the stream includes segments that at least some include control data for presentation of the content. The method also includes receiving requests from one or more terminals, at least some of the requests identifies particular segments of the multiplexed data stream, and transmitting identified segments of the multiplexed data stream to the terminals in response to the received requests.

  • Patent number: 7155674
Abstract: A television system allows viewers to access a number of different groups of television content, or “service aggregates.” A portal interface for each group provides a direct means for the viewer to navigate between members of a service aggregate, without necessarily having to accesses a global program guide for the television system. The groups of television content can be formed from various criteria including forming the groups based on business rules.

  • Patent number: 5048781
Abstract: A bracket device for supporting concrete forms in a predetermined spaced relationship to each other on a supporting surface includes an elongated horizontal member and a pair of inner and outer spaced arm members depending from opposite ends of the horizontal member. Each of the pairs of inner and outer spaced arm members are adapted to engage respectively the inner and outer surfaces of the concrete form. The elongated horizontal member and inner and outer pairs of spaced arm members all lie in the same plane. In alternate embodiments the inner arm members are laterally adjustable to adjust the distance between the inner and outer arm members; the outer arm members are vertically adjustable to adjust the elevation of the bracket device; and the elongated horizontal member includes a pair of laterally adjustable sections for adjusting to the distance between the concrete forms.
