  • Publication number: 20020081043
Abstract: A recloseable plastic bag having mating reformed profiles which are easy to open and easy to close. The bag further includes a flap marked with a indicia to enable a user to readily see where the bag is to be grasped to open the bag. The double flap strengthens the mouth of the bag to permit repeated use, and also forms a pocket into which the user can insert her finger to open or separate the profiles or pull the bag off of a mounting stack.

  • Patent number: 5511884
Abstract: A recloseable plastic bag having male and female interlocking profiles which are easily openable and easily closeable, and a method of making such bag are disclosed. The bag includes mating profiles which comprise a selected non-engaging section such that the profiles cannot interlock at that section. The non-engaging section permits a user to more easily open the bag when the separating action of the profiles is initiated at the non-engaging section. The non-engaging section also permits air to escape as the bag and profiles are pressed together to close, to enable easier closing of the bag when product is contained therein.

  • Patent number: 5334127
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming recloseable plastic bags having engageable mating profiles wherein the bags are made to have an initially open mouth. The profiles which are made to be in an closed condition are opened by a blade apparatus which engages and opens the profiles at a point after the tubing is fused or tacked to thereby maintain proper alignment of the profiles when the bags are made.

  • Patent number: 5118202
Abstract: A recloseable plastic bag containing an object and a method of making the bag. A plastic tube having cooperating snap fit members protruding from the surface of said tube extending along the length of the tube, adjacent to one lateral edge is provided. The tube is heat sealed along a series of spaced apart lines extending from one lateral edge to an opposite lateral edge. An area of the protruding snap fit members is heat sealed and flattened. A perforated line is formed to extend across the tube and said flattened area. The tube is slit adjacent to each of the heat seal lines and may receive an object in slitted side of the formed bag. The resulting bag may be conveniently severed from the tube along the perforated line.

  • Patent number: 5094707
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for fabricating storage bags that have complementary sealing ribs out of stock material which may be a tubular extruded stock. When produced according to this apparatus and method, the storage bags have open mouths, that is, the sealing ribs are not engaged. The apparatus includes a separator bar to separate and disengage the sealing ribs prior to transversely joining the tube to form the side edges of the bag. Guide plates and a platen maintain alignment of the separated sealing ribs when the side edges are formed. The formed bags are then sequentially cut from the tube.

  • Patent number: 4038780
Abstract: A device for automatically supplying water to house plants over a prolonged period of time including a body for the storage of water and an elongated neck with a small hole in its side attached to the body. When inverted the neck is stuck into the potting soil of a house plant so the body rests on the soil, water slowly seeps out into the soil. When in an upright position with holes made in the body portion, and the device is hung by appropriate means, it may also serve as a rooting device when plant cuttings are inserted into the water in the body through the formed holes.

  • Patent number: 4002006
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming individual containers from a length of an unexpanded continuous tube of expandable net-like material having an open end portion and a length several times longer than the length of the individual containers to be formed therefrom wherein a working length of the unexpanded continuous material is expandably opened by expansion means defining a container forming cavity; a container forming length portion of the continuous material, including the open end portion which is closed, is turned inside-out by placing goods to be packaged in the container forming cavity to cause the container forming portion to be located and expanded in the cavity with the closed end at the bottom of the cavity; and the end of the container forming portion containing the goods opposite the closed end is then severed from the continuous tube of material to form a separate individual package of goods.
