  • Patent number: 6173127
Abstract: The special effects filter for camera comprises a transparent support sliding on the camera body between at least two positions. The support is fitted with at least one zone capable of covering the lens and the viewfinder of the camera so that practically identical light transmission characteristics are respectively registered with the lens and the viewfinder.

  • Patent number: 5933659
Abstract: A collapsible camera comprising a body defined by a first panel, a second panel and rigid support means. The first and second panels are substantially planar and parallel when the camera body is in its collapsed condition and bowed away from each other when the camera body is erected. When the camera body is erected, the rigid support means act between the first and second panels to define and retain the spacing between the panels during normal usage of the camera. By including rigid support means, reliable focussing of an image on a film in the camera can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 5842076
Abstract: An apparatus for supplying a liquid from a container which has an opening through which the liquid can be removed. The apparatus comprises a lid for the opening in the container, an aperture in the lid through which a tube projects for access to the interior of the container, a liquid-tight seal in the aperture through which the tube passes, with the tube being movable through the seal, at least one opening in the wall of the tube adjacent the end of the tube having access to the interior of the container, a closure arrangement at the end of the tube preventing the passage of liquid through the end of the tube into the container, and an arrangement for preventing the withdrawal of the end of the tube through the aperture in the lid. When the tube has been withdrawn through the seal until prevented from further withdrawal, said opening in the wall of the tube is closed by the seal.

  • Patent number: 5634609
Abstract: Film cassettes normally include a spool on to which a film strip is wound. However, the film strip is normally fixed to the spool and needs to be severed therefrom prior to processing. A releasable attachment connects a film strip (50) to a spool (30). The spool (30) comprises an outer portion (32) and an inner portion (34) which is rotatable relative to the outer portion (32). The outer portion (32) has a slot (38) formed therein into which the film strip (50) is inserted. The inner portion (34) carries a tongue member (42) which engages an aperture (54) formed in the film strip (50) as the inner portion (34) is rotated relative to the outer portion (32) about an axis (36). The film strip (50) is released by rotating the inner portion (34) in the reverse direction.

  • Patent number: 5573203
Abstract: Film cassettes normally include a spool on to which a film strip is wound. However, the film strip is normally fixed to the spool and needs to be severed therefrom prior to processing. A releasable attachment connects a film strip to a spool. As film strip (40) is modified to include a cut-out portion (44) spaced from aperture (42) which engages a protrusion (20) in slot 18. The releasable attachment is provided by inserting the film strip (40) into the slot (18) until aperture (42) engages with protrusion (20). Subsequent withdrawal of the film strip (40) is achieved by further inserting the film strip (40) into the slot (18) to disengage the aperture (42) from the protrusion (20), and until the cut-out portion (44) clears shoulder portion (24) of the slot (18). At this point, the film strip (40) flips up out of slot (18) and as the film strip is removed in the direction of arrow `C`, shoulder portion (24) supports it so that aperture (42) and protrusion (20) cannot be re-engaged.

  • Patent number: 5394215
Abstract: In small processing machines, the rate at which material passes through the machine tends to be low due to its size. This results in the access time being long as it is the sum of the actual processing time at each stage, plus the crossover times between each stage, and finally the time it takes for the whole sheet of material being processed to emerge from the machine. Described herein is apparatus which allows the transport rate between each stage and the exiting speed of the material from the apparatus to be increased. The apparatus comprises a rotating drum around which a guide is arranged to define a processing tank. Material to be processed is transported around the surface of the drum in the processing tank by transport roller set. The roller set comprises a fixed roller to which rollers are pivotally connected. Roller is lifted from against the surface of the drum to allow the material to be switched out of the tank.

  • Patent number: 5360136
Abstract: Dispensing apparatus are well known for dispensing material from a package. Described herein is apparatus for dispensing predetermined amounts of material (10, 10') stored in vessels (12) carried by a continuous web (14). The apparatus comprises a roller (18) over which the web (14) moves. A stop bar (20) is positioned above the roller (20) so that as the web (14) passes over the roller (18), the vessels (12) engage the bar (20) and are separated from the web (14) thereby releasing the material (10').
