  • Patent number: 7303160
Abstract: A system for processing waste on a continuous basis comprises an infeed assembly, a vessel held at a non-ambient pressure and/or temperature, and an outfeed assembly. The infeed assembly includes: a sleeve where waste is delivered; a gate construction that moves between an open and a closed position; and a ram that moves within the sleeve to compress waste when the gate construction is in the closed position and to push the compressed waste into the vessel, where it is metamorphically processed, when the gate construction is in the open position. The processed material moves from the vessel to the outfeed assembly, which includes a compaction chamber, a ram that moves within the compaction chamber, and a cutter assembly. Waste is compacted in the compaction chamber by the ram, cut by the cutter assembly, and delivered as a compacted block to an environment having an ambient pressure and/or temperature.

  • Patent number: 4311135
Abstract: An apparatus to assist leg venous and skin circulation is provided and comprises a stocking which is secured around at least a portion of a leg of a person. The stocking includes a plurality of elongated and flexible tubular members so that each member defines an elongated and expandable fluid chamber. The stocking is arranged so that each fluid chamber extends substantially circumferentially around the person's leg and the members are axially adjacent each other. The apparatus further comprises an air distributor for sequentially fluidly pressurizing the chambers, maintained the pressure in each chamber for a predetermined period and thereafter exhausting the fluid pressure from the chambers. The air distributor performs this pressurization of the chambers in the stocking sequentially in a cephalad direction to thereby propel the leg venous blood towards the heart.

  • Patent number: 4216600
Abstract: A telescopic sight mount is provided in which no troque is applied to the telescope when mounted. The torque-free installation is accomplished by having a front and rear telescopic mount which engage the telescopic sight and float freely and also by having a rotatably adjustable eccentric union attached to the rear telescopic sight mount. The telescope sight is aligned with the barrel sight by adjusting or rotating the eccentric union. Thereafter, all screws are securely tightened. Since no torque is used during installation, there is no tension on the external telescopic cylinder and no distortion of the lens system, either temporarily during installation or permanently after securing.
