  • Patent number: 6328160
Abstract: An expandable, compact disc shipping container capable of securely holding a compact disc container and additionally providing added protection to the corners of the compact disc container, which usually is most vulnerable to damage during shipping, and to the compact disc itself. The expandable, shipping container is provided with a top closure flap that is at least as long as the width of maximum expansion and further provided with score lines that facilitate assembly of a container blank and provide the ability to hold compact discs containers of varying thickness securely during shipment.

  • Patent number: 6220050
Abstract: A compressor and suction accumulator assembly including an accumulator assembly attached to a compressor assembly. The compressor assembly includes a curved housing and the accumulator assembly defines a hip flask shaped housing having a concave surface which partially surrounds the curved compressor housing. The accumulator housing includes an inlet and an outlet whereby the outlet of the accumulator housing is in fluid communication with the compressor housing and the concave surface of the accumulator housing is superposed with the outer surface of the compressor housing to promote heat transfer therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6196814
Abstract: A compressor assembly including a compression mechanism, a rotating crankshaft operably coupled to the compression mechanism, the crankshaft provided with a longitudinally-extending oil conveyance passageway, the oil conveyance passageway in fluid communication with relatively moving interfacing bearing surfaces of the compression mechanism, and an oil pump assembly. The oil pump assembly includes an oil pump body having an interior surface and being rotatable relative to the crankshaft, a vane disposed within the pump body and rotating with the crankshaft, the vane having at least one end in sliding engagement with the interior surface of the oil pump body, and a port plate disposed within the pump body and having rotatably opposite first and second positions. The vane is in sliding engagement with an adjacent surface of the port plate, and the port plate is provided with an inlet and an outlet.

  • Patent number: 5507159
Abstract: A suction accumulator assembly in which a flexible resiliently yieldable support is attached between the accumulator casing and an internal suction tube to allow the suction tube to move relative the accumulator casing. The flexible support includes an annular fold located circumferentially about the suction tube to increase the ability of the flexible support to damp vibration and reduce sound transmitted through the suction accumulator.

  • Patent number: 5374171
Abstract: A rotary compressor including an orbiting piston is disposed within a cylinder bore. A crankshaft with an eccentric causes the piston to orbit within the cylinder block. Crescent shaped polymeric washers are interfit between the eccentric and cylinder bore endwalls to reduce friction and endplay therebetween. Curved or whorled grooves on the face of the washer reduce frictional contact area and at the same time increase lubricant flow. Compressor noise is reduced by the ability of the washers to act as resilient stops between the eccentric, crankshaft and cylinder endwalls.

  • Patent number: 5222885
Abstract: A compressor oiling system for a horizontal rotary compressor including a pressure plate defining a motor chamber and compressor unit chamber within the compressor each having an oil sump. An opening in the pressure plate allows oil pressurized by discharge pressure from the compressor to pass through an oil pickup passageway leading from the sump portion of the compressor unit chamber to the outboard bearing of the actual compressor unit. During compressor operation, discharge gases create a pressure differential across the pressure plate allowing the oil level to raise within the compressor unit chamber to the level of the crankshaft thereby lubricating the crankshaft bearings.
