Patent number: 9726469Abstract: A circle compass is provided. The circle compass includes a main body attachable to a router and an adjustable arm. The main body includes a central receiving aperture configured to receive a router bit or shaft therethrough. The adjustable arm is slidably attached to the main body and has a centering pin. The centering pin extends axially outward beyond a bottom side of the main body. The adjustable arm is slidable along an adjustment axis between a retracted position being associated with a smallest hole that can be formed and an extended position being associated with the largest hole that can be formed. The adjustable arm includes a clearance slot that at least partially aligns with the central receiving aperture of the main body through which the rotating portion of the router must extend to form a cut in the work piece.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2013Date of Patent: August 8, 2017Assignee: Nomis LLCInventors: Edward D. Publication number: 20110241271Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided, for positioning a work piece, such as a piece of crown molding, through use of an apparatus including a work piece support plate pivotably attached along a pivot axis to a base. The base is adapted to rest on a horizontal reference plane, such as the table of a mitre saw, for pivoting motion of the support plate about the pivot axis to a desired angle with respect to the base, while the pivot axis is simultaneously positioned to extend substantially parallel to a longitudinal line of intersection between a horizontal and a vertical reference plane, established by the table and fence of the mitre saw, to hold the work piece at a desired tilt angle with respect to the vertical reference plane, so that the work piece may be cut in substantially the same orientation as it will be mounted.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2011Publication date: October 6, 2011Applicant: Nomis LLCInventors: Damian A. Kozina, Edward D. Adkins

Patent number: 7926158Abstract: A blade changing tool for changing a blade for saws, particular table saws, is provided. The tool includes a body having a face that includes at least one recess for receiving and engaging a saw blade. Typically, the face will include a plurality of axially offset recesses resulting in a stepped face. A blade face abutment surface and a riser extending therefrom combine to form the recesses. The risers may be concave in shape giving the recesses a circular segment shape. The body also includes at least one blade engaging catch that engages teeth of the blade to prevent rotational movement of the blade while it is being loosened or tightened. The tool may be free of undercuts to facilitate straight-pull molding. Also, the stepped face may be an external face to facilitate visually inspecting the engagement between the blade and the tool.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2007Date of Patent: April 19, 2011Assignee: Nomis LLCInventors: Damian A.
