    Abstract: A gas turbine engine including a core having a compressor section fluidly connected to a combustor via a primary flowpath and a turbine section connected to the combustor via the core flow path. An assembly is disposed within the gas turbine engine and includes a first part connected to a second part via a radial stack joint. The first part includes a radially inward facing surface contacting a corresponding radially outward facing surface of the second part. A fastener protrudes through the first part and the second part and is configured to maintain the relative positions of the first part and the second part. A channel is disposed on at least one of the radially inward facing surfaces and is positioned between the fastener and a circumferential edge of the first part. The channel is connected to at least one cooling air source.

    Abstract: A yaw control system and a method of controlling yaw for an aircraft are provided. The yaw control system includes a first wing set and a second wing set which are rotatable in opposite directions. Each of the wing sets includes at least two wings each including a pivotable flap forming a trailing edge of its respective wing. A flap control assembly controls the pivotable flaps of the first wing set and of the second wing set such that when the pivotable flaps of the first wing set are pivoted in a first direction by a first set angle, the pivotable flaps of the second wing set are simultaneously pivoted by a second set angle in an opposite direction, thereby providing yaw control for the aircraft.

    Abstract: A customizable, modular circuit breaker housing assembly having an optimized compact form factor for use with electrical and telecommunications equipment. The housing assembly is comprised of an interlocked arrangement of individual housing portions coupled at one end to an end housing portion, and to an end panel portion at an opposite end. The end housing portion and individual housing portions include a load bus chamber and a line bus chamber for receiving load and line bus members, and one or more alarm contact member receptacles for receiving at least one alarm contact member. The line bus member and the alarm contact members may be provided as individually segmented members. In other embodiments, the individual housing portions may include pass-through slots for inserting a common line bus bar, pass-through apertures for common contact members, or both. The line and load bus members are formed of extruded metallic members having substantially the same cross-sectional surface.

    Abstract: A system and method for the stabilization of battery temperature by alternating airflow through an internal ductwork of a cabinet housing electronic equipment and circuitry. Ambient air is drawn through one or more intake vents or louvers provided with the cabinet housing. Regulated airflow through the ductwork allows the cabinet housing's thermal management system to direct either cooler ambient air during warm periods or heated air during colder periods through the cabinet to stabilize the battery temperature as well electronics equipment and circuitry housed in the cabinet. At least a portion of the heated air is expelled through one or more exhaust vents. Because no active components are used for stabilizing battery temperature, thermal regulation is achieved even during utility power outages. Further, thermal energy is provided without the possibility of igniting hydrogen gas products generated by the battery units present in the cabinet.

    Abstract: A current-fed DC-to-DC converter (10) includes an input choke (20) which reduces current fluctuation in the converter (10). A power transformer (26), which is coupled to the input choke (20), transforms electrical energy at one voltage magnitude into electrical energy at another voltage magnitude. A first output rectifier (32) is coupled to the input choke (20). A second output rectifier (34, 36) is coupled to the power transformer (26). A first isolation diode (38) and a second isolation diode (40, 42) are coupled to the anodes of the first output rectifier (32) and the second output rectifier (34, 36), respectively. A transient voltage suppression element (12) is coupled to the first isolation diode (38) and the second isolation diode (40, 42).

    Abstract: Two pulse-width modulated power supplies are synchronized to operate at 180.degree. of phase shift to reduce the peak amplitude of the instantaneous current drawn from the DC input bus. The circuit includes means for disabling the synchronization upon detection of an undervoltage fault condition on the output of either supply. This feature allows frequency programming techniques to be used to provide foldback current limiting for either supply without affecting the operation of the other supply.
