  • Publication number: 20210345103
Abstract: Aspects and features relate to a system that transparently connects point-of-care testing (POCT) devices with electronic health records associated with a remote laboratory information system (LIS) to report test results in real time or near real time. POCT results can be received from the POCT device at a mobile computing device. The mobile computing device and the POCT device are located outside the LIS environment, for example, at a physician office or remote clinic. The mobile computing device can use its own data broker to configure low-level instrument protocol data from the POCT device for secured transmission over a wide-area network infrastructure. The POCT results can be subsequently received in the LIS environment and provided to the LIS to transparently populate an electronic medical record (EMR) with the POCT results. In some examples, the LIS or a hospital information system can also update a point-of-care EMR.

  • Patent number: 10054588
Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided for classification of individuals suffering from a demyelinating disease into groups that are informative of the individual's responsiveness or lack of responsiveness to treatment with a J3-interferon (IFNJ3) acting therapy. In particular, it is shown that the effective immunomodulatory treatment of demyelinating disease with IFNJ3 is associated with an increase in circulating transitional B cells in the patient. Diseases of interest include without limitation inflammatory demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system, e.g. multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica (NMO), experimental autoimmune encephalitis (EAE), acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), etc.

  • Publication number: 20090084348
Abstract: For gaseous fuels that are injected directly into a combustion chamber the mass flow rate through an injection valve can be influenced by changes in the in-cylinder pressure. A method and apparatus are provided for accurately metering a gaseous into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. The method comprises inputting a fueling command; determining from said fueling command a baseline pulse width of an injection event, based upon a baseline pressure differential across a fuel injection valve; estimating the difference between said baseline pressure differential and an actual pressure differential; calculating a corrected pulse width by applying at least one correction factor to said baseline pulse width, wherein said correction factor is a function of the estimated difference between said baseline pressure differential and said actual pressure differential.

  • Patent number: 6330000
Abstract: An arithmetic division for implementation using hardware or software is performed by firstly storing the reciprocal of each nth value in a range 0 to X where n is greater than 1 and storing the differences between the reciprocals of the intervening n-1 values. A mantissa and an operand for an arithmetic division are received. one of the stored reciprocals is retrieved in response to the most significant part of the received mantissa and a set of differences is retrieved in response to a least significant part of the received mantissa. The differences and the reciprocal are summed and the result is multiplied by the received operand, other thereby giving the result of the arithmetic division.

  • Patent number: 6313846
Abstract: A three dimensional image is textured for display on a screen by firstly receiving data comprising the location of each elementary area (pixel) of the screen and associated image data for that pixel. Texture image data is retrieved from a memory means in dependence on the image data and an appropriate portion of that texture image data is mapped onto the pixel. The number of pixels which share the same associated image data is determined and an incremental change in the mapping of the texture data onto pixels corresponding to a one pixel increment is also determined. For each pixel sharing the same image data as an adjacent pixel the previously derived texture image data for that adjacent pixel is combined with the incremental change in texture image data to thereby derive texture image data for that pixel.
