    Abstract: A wire rope cutter comprising a frame, a hydraulic cylinder and piston mounted on the frame. A piston rod extends from the hydraulic cylinder and mounts a wire cutting knife. An anvil is provided on the frame and in the axis of the piston rod. Means for mounting the frame on a support body are provided and the body includes a hydraulic circuit. The cylinder is in fluid communication with the hydraulic circuit on the body to thereby operate the piston and knife to advance towards the anvil for cutting a wire rope placed on the anvil.
