    Abstract: An adapter for use with vehicle exhaust emission testing apparatus of the type utilizing an elongated tube-like sampling probe, the adapter including a tube-like body member having one end connected to the vehicle exhaust and the other end exhausting gases from the test area. A smaller tube-like conduit connected to the body member contains a diaphram-like resilient valve permitting entrance of the sampling probe into the adapter with minimal loss of exhaust gas.
