  • Publication number: 20060275055
Abstract: The invention relates generally to processes for electrographic image development. An electrographic development apparatus is provided wherein a film is adjacent a cylindrical toning shell and a mixture of toner and carrier is particles disposed on the cylindrical toning shell in contact with the film. The cylindrical toning shell is closest to the film at a first location, the mixture of toner and carrier particles being movable through the first location with a flow direction. A magnetic core disposed within the cylindrical toning shell offset toward the cylindrical shell such that a magnetic field strength is greater at the second location than the first location.

  • Publication number: 20060045581
Abstract: The invention relates to cleaning deposits from rollers in a fusing apparatus for a printer. According to just one aspect of the invention, fuser assemblies and processes for a printer are provided comprising a first cleaning blade held by a support and defining a first edge in contact with a circumferential surface transverse to a direction of normal operation of a roller and being oriented such that rotating the roller in the direction of normal operation applies a pulling force to the first cleaning blade, the roller comprising a pressure roller or a fuser roller. The invention may also be applied to a fusing surface such as a belt.

  • Publication number: 20050163520
Abstract: An image production apparatus comprising a development unit for applying toner to an electrostatic image, the development unit having magnetic core rotating at a magnetic core rotation speed and a controller to control the magnetic core rotation speed in response to a parameter of the image production apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20050123321
Abstract: A blender for electrographic developer has an outer cylindrical surface having an axis, the blender being adapted to rotate about the axis; and a skive defining an outer edge adjacent said cylindrical surface and spanning a length along said axis.

  • Publication number: 20050068849
Abstract: According to the various aspects of the invention, a method and apparatus for mixing electrographic developer is provided. An elongate shaft having two ends and an intermediate location between the two ends is rotated. Developer is moved away from the intermediate location toward one of the ends with an inner helical ribbon mounted concentrically to the elongate shaft for rotation therewith. Developer is moved away from the one of the ends toward the intermediate location with an outer helical ribbon mounted concentrically to the elongate shaft for rotation therewith, the inner helical ribbon is disposed within the outer helical ribbon. Developer is moved away from the intermediate location toward another of the ends with another inner helical ribbon mounted to the elongate shaft for rotation therewith.
