    Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter provides ligands for detecting and imaging cancer cells and tumors, and for guided delivery of an active agent to cancer cells and tumors.     Abstract: Methods and kits are provided for determining the probability of lung cancer, for managing treatment of subjects with potential lung cancer and for molecular staging of lung tumors. The methods include determining an amount of each member of a panel of biomarkers in a sample from the subject, wherein the panel of biomarkers comprises at least two of the proteins alpha-1-antitrypsin, carcinoembryonic antigen, squamous cell carcinoma antigen, retinol binding protein, transferrin, and haptoglobin; and assigning the subject to a group having a higher or lower probability of lung cancer based on the determined amount of each biomarker the panel.
