  • Patent number: 4687276
Abstract: A one-piece clip defines a receptacle for receiving a ribbon cable connector. Spring 10 tabs are provided at ends of the clip for permitting insertion and retention of the clip within a rectangular slot of a panel. The cable connector is insertable into the receptacle of the clip and the clip is insertable into the back panel by hand and without the need for any tools.

  • Patent number: 4561558
Abstract: A vent cover that permits venting of an enclosure and prevents the entry of contaminants into the enclosure is disclosed. The vent cover is integrally formed from an elastomeric material and has a cup-shaped main portion and an outwardly extending stem member which is received within an aperture in the enclosure. The stem member is slidingly movable within the enclosure causing the main portion of the vent cover to be in a non-contacting relationship with the enclosure when venting is required and to be in a contacting relationship with the enclosure when sealing of the enclosure from external contaminants is required.

  • Patent number: 4434537
Abstract: A latching mechanism for latching the front plate of a circuit board module to the circuit board module rack effected by merely inserting the module in the rack. The mechanism includes a resilient tab having a prong with a tapered head. The prong mates with an aperture of a mount on the rack such that at full insertion of the module the head engages the mount through the aperture thus precluding withdrawal of the module from the rack. Depressing the resilient tab allows withdrawal of the prong from the mount through the aperture to unlatch the mechanism and permit withdrawal of the module from the rack.

  • Patent number: 4429937
Abstract: A module mounting unit formed from a pair of side plates and a series of U-shaped cross-members mounted between the side plates for slidably retaining a series of printed circuit board modules by sliding the modules in guideways provided in the module mounting unit. The modules each have a resilient tab having a prong with a tapered head. The module mounting unit has a series of front apertures formed to allow the head of each module to engage the aperture at full insertion of the module, thus precluding withdrawal of the module from the rack. The cross-members each have a series of spaced apertures along one leg of the U for engaging the tabs of the modules and a series of alternately-spaced circular and oval apertures to facilitate the mounting of the module guideways to the module mounting unit.
