  • Patent number: 11843090
Abstract: A battery electrode plate assembly and a production line and method of making, pasting, and applying separators to substrates of battery electrode plate assemblies. The production line includes, in an embodiment, a paster, a cutter, and a transfer mechanism. The paster is configured to apply a battery paste to a first side of an elongate web of a separator material. The cutter is downstream of the paster and is configured to sever the pasted web into a series of separate and individual separators with paste on their first side. And the transfer mechanism is configured to dispose an individual separator of the series on one of a series of substrates with the pasted first side of the separator facing the substrate on which it is disposed.

  • Publication number: 20220302464
Abstract: In the manufacture of pasted current collectors for bipolar batteries, a method of making pasted substrates includes several steps. The substrates can be a plastic sheet, an embedded plastic mesh, a metal mesh, an absorbent glass mat (AGM), or some other material. One step involves applying paste material to an elongate strip of substrate material. Another step involves cutting the elongate strip of substrate material into multiple individual substrates. Further steps can involve punching via a rotary punch, crush cutting, ultrasonic cutting, concealing lateral sections via folding, and/or using one or more mask overlays.

  • Publication number: 20220248635
Abstract: An animal feed/water container mounting system is described that can be cost effective, safe for the animals, resistant to spillage, durable, and easy to manufacture/install. The container mounting system may be used to mount an animal feed/water container to a vertical member. The container subject to mounting may include a bail and a container lip. The vertical member may have a front surface. The mounting system may include a bail hanging unit for hanging the bail and may include a container mounting bracket. The container mounting bracket may include multiple mounting bracket retaining tabs interspersed along the length of the container mounting bracket. The tabs may be designed to support a container lip of the container at a plurality of locations along the length of the container mounting bracket.

  • Patent number: 6623562
Abstract: A slurry loading apparatus for automatically loading a slurry into a substrate. The apparatus includes a pasting head. The pasting head includes a cavity that fills with slurry creating a pressure that forces the slurry onto the surface of the substrate and into the voids of the substrate. The slurry loading apparatus may include a feedback control loop that controls the rate in which slurry is delivered to the pasting head.

  • Patent number: 6139302
Abstract: A powder delivery system for delivering an electrode powder to a compaction device where the powder is compressed onto an electrically conductive substrate, the powder delivery system comprises a powder feed channel which is vibrated to effect powder movement therethrough and delivery therefrom. An accelerometer is coupled to the powder feed channel for measuring the acceleration of the channel as it vibrates. The actual measured acceleration is used to control the vibration of the channel.
