Abstract: Light apparatuses including a light source generating a blue-colored light, a phosphorus filter transforming the blue-colored light into white light, and a light dispersing element receiving the light and projecting a plurality of discrete points of light onto a target surface that have been transformed into white light by the phosphorus filter. Methods for creating a plurality of discrete points of light on a target surface using a light apparatus including a light source and a phosphorus filter and a light dispersing element, including generating a light using the light source, in which the generated light is blue-colored light, transforming the light into white light by passing the light through a phosphorus filter, and causing the light to be incident on the light dispersing element, such that the light dispersing element disperses the light and creates a plurality of individual points of light on the target surface.

Abstract: An animal model has been developed based the understanding that a central mechanism in patients with CTRF is that chemotherapy and/or radiation initiates canonical pathways leading to the development of disrupted sleep architecture, resulting in disruption of REM sleep and fatigue and cognitive dysfunction. Drugs that restore the activity patterns and levels towards normal and/or decrease the pro-inflammatory cytokines associated with the disrupted sleep, should be effective in alleviating one or more symptoms of CTRF. Pentoxifylline was demonstrated to improve activity levels in animals treated with etoposide.

Abstract: The present invention features methods and compositions for the treatment, reduction, and prevention of degenerative joint disorders by administering to a mammal a joint enhancing composition. According to this invention, the composition increases the level of expression and secretion of endogenous lubricin such that the joints in the mammal being treated are lubricated. This composition can be administered alone or in combination with one or more therapeutic agents.
