  • Patent number: 11879564
Abstract: An apparatus for locking the position of the rotary valve, wherein the valve has a valve shaft adapted to have first and second opposed flatted formations. The apparatus includes first and second cam followers. The cam followers are reciprocally movable via the action of a cam assembly comprising first and second cams mounted on a rotatable cam stem. The cam followers can be simultaneously moved in opposite directions whereby engagement walls in the first and second cam followers can engage the first and second opposed flatted formations simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20220299132
Abstract: An actuator assembly which has a primary force module having a compression spring can be is compressed by a first fluid pressure-operated piston reciprocally mounted in the primary force module. There is a tandem piston module connected to the primary force module which has a second fluid-activated piston. When the spring of the primary force module is compressed, indicating that an attached valve is in the open position, the tandem module is actuated to apply a counter balancing force against the primary piston which allows the spring to expand and move the primary piston to a position which is sufficient to permit movement of the valve element of the actuated valve to indicate the valve is not stuck in an open position.

  • Patent number: 10132337
Abstract: A modular actuator assembly which can be used for partial stroke testing of a valve, the assembly having a force module and a tandem piston module. The force module has a primary piston and piston rod interconnected to a shaft which is movably mounted therein. The tandem piston module is connected to the force module and has a tandem piston and piston rod. An indicator plate is connected to the piston rod and is selectively positionable on the tandem piston rod. • Publication number: 20150362078
Abstract: A double offset butterfly valve comprising a valve body, a valve seat carried by the valve body, and a valve disc mounted on a shaft rotatably journaled in the valve body, the shaft being eccentric both to the centerline of the body and to the centerline of the valve disc (double offset). The periphery of the valve disc has a substantial knife edge which contacts the valve seat without rubbing. As the valve disc rotates, the knife edge remains out of contact with the valve seat until the knife edge contacts the seat at full closure.

  • Patent number: 8863596
Abstract: A Scotch yoke actuator is disclosed with a dual yoke and a diagonally symmetric design. A pair of shafts and pushing devices apply equal, opposing forces to the yoke, causing end loading forces applied to a rotatable shaft attached to the center of the yoke to be cancelled. In embodiments, the weight of the pushing devices is balanced about the yoke, each shaft extends in only one direction from the yoke, and/or the shafts are supported only by the yoke and the pushing devices. In embodiments that use yoke pins, the yoke pins include rollers or bearings to reduce friction, and/or two pair of yoke pin slots support protruding ends of the yoke pins. The yoke pin slots can extend to edges of a yoke housing face, allowing easy shaft removal and reinstallation, and each shaft can include a split end with extensions on opposing sides of the yoke.

  • Patent number: 5386761
Abstract: A valve actuator with an arcuate piston disposed within a housing including a side wall having a partition and two end plates whereby when joined, the housing forms a first and a second compartment. An arcuate piston travels between the compartments via an opening in the partition in an oscillating manner. A removable piston assembly enables removing the arcuate piston, output shaft and lever arms supporting the piston in order to remove the output shaft or to engage a spiral spring connecting the output shaft with the housing. The spiral spring may be pretensioned by winding before inserting the piston assembly into the housing. Fluid pressure applied to either compartment urges movement of the arcuate piston into the opposite compartment.

  • Patent number: 5244183
Abstract: A sealing assembly, usable with a valve or the like, having a movable shaft within a main housing and controlling a product under a first pressure. A cartridge housing forms a continuation of the main housing. An extension of the shaft extends through the cartridge housing and forms an annulus therewith. Spaced first and second annular seals movably seal the annulus between the shaft extension and the cartridge housing, forming a central sealing chamber. An injector introduces sealing medium into the central sealing chamber under a pressure higher than the product pressure. An accumulator receives excess sealing medium from the central sealing chamber, and can also be associated with monitoring means. Additional annular seals may form additional chambers spaced along the shaft, and these chambers may likewise be used for injection of sealing media and/or monitoring and/or leak detection.
