  • Patent number: 5644491
Abstract: An engine monitor includes, in a self-contained preferably sealed unit, a spark sensor, inductively and capacitively coupled through the case to a spark pick up wire, a timer, and a running time detector, responsive to inputs from the spark pick up to provide total running time, job time, and service time metering. Preferably, storage means are included for storing maximum RPM and spark mode data, that is, data indicating the number of firings per RPM for the particular engine, as well as a preset service interval and one or more auxiliary timers.

  • Patent number: 4054380
Abstract: A processing system having central control including an automated condition responsive system for automatically sequencing and integrating the operation of selected external features utilizable in conjunction with an electrostatographic reproducing process. The processing operation is monitored by means of a central timing control initiated in accordance with a preprogrammed sequence for each of the peripheral operations to be performed in conjunction with the central processing sequence. Sequence control is provided for controlling the sequencing of the peripheral operation in accordance with the timing cycles controlling the central reproducing process. More specifically, control means are set up for automatic document handling, sorting, billing, and jam and recovery control. By utilization of central command logic and separate processing logic, integration of all these operations in accordance with externally controlled program operation is achieved.

  • Patent number: 3991355
Abstract: A feed control apparatus employing a control circuit for accurately positioning the shaft of a multiphase stepper motor by selective energization of respective phases of the motor under the influence of a low duty cycle power supply and a one way clutching mechanism thereby accurately positioning the motor in a proper angular position such that normal energization of the motor phase coils will result in the desired motor drive direction.

  • Patent number: 3944794
Abstract: A copying system incorporating means enabling the user to automatically recover from a jam or machine malfunction in the event the copy program is prematurely stopped with the result that some of the copies then in process are lost. A first counter means counts copies processed while a second counter means counts copies started. In the event of a premature stop, the second counter means is automatically reset to the same count as the first counter means thereby programming the system to make up copies lost as well as copies remaining on the original program. If the copying system includes a sorter, the second counter means is programmed to count copies when sorting is completed. If the copying system has an automatic document handler, a third counter means records originals brought to the platen and a fourth counter means records originals whose copying has been completed.

  • Patent number: 3936658
Abstract: In an electrostatic reproducing machine an improved fusing apparatus is provided for fusing xerographic images onto copy sheets. The fusing apparatus comprises various actuable means including a pressure roller, a fuser roller, means for engaging and disengaging the pressure roller against the fuser roller, means for cooling end portions of the pressure roller, means for lubricating the fuser roller, and control means for actuating the various actuable means in a timed order and sequence to effect the fusing operation.
