  • Patent number: 10568296
Abstract: A generally hollow plastic molded pen front provides multiple operating positions of the door having sets of interdigitating hinge knuckles on the door and door jamb on both the left and right side. The door also may be swung in or out, and one or more stops can be provided for any of four configurations—left hinged swing in; left hinged swing out; right hinged swing in; right hinged swing out. With the stops removed, the door may be swung both in and out. In one embodiment a J-shaped latching rod secures both the upper and lower portions of the door when latched and a J-shaped hinge rod cooperates on the other side and can use some of the same holes as the latching rod. In another embodiment, a pivoting handle works to secure the door in a catch channel for all six configurations. Other integrated features provide a choice of feed opening sizes and a guard that minimizes feed and water contamination.

  • Publication number: 20180359989
Abstract: An animal housing unit has an enclosed monolithic hutch with an open front and a separate open top pen attached to the front of the hutch whereby an animal will be contained in the unit by the combination of the hutch and pen. The pen has a sliding roof that can be extended over the pen, with an extension that shields a feed bucket location from rain. The units can be supported on a composite steel and plastic base and drain through floor tiles can be used on the base, which can be supported on adjustable supports to support the base above or close to the ground. The roof is bi-laterally curved or partially spherical to promote shedding of rainwater, and gutters are molded into the hutch to channel rain away from the interior living space. Roof guiding and securement mechanisms are molded into the hutch and sliding roof. The sliding roof is double walled for insulation and strength and extruded members sandwich the lower edges of the hutch.

  • Publication number: 20170181399
Abstract: A free-standing plastic livestock confinement system includes hollow plastic panels assembled together to provide interconnected walls that create confinement areas. One of the walls provides a door opening and a door that can be closed across the opening. The door is a hollow plastic panel with an opening for an animal to place its head through for access to food. The door is molded with a bucket holder and the opening in the door over the bucket holder. The bucket holder is recessed such that a bucket received in the bucket holder will extend partially into the confinement area.

  • Patent number: 9591828
Abstract: An indoor livestock confinement system includes a plurality of hollow plastic panels. One of the hollow plastic panels defines a U-shaped door frame. The door frame is open at the top and includes an attachment for a door at one edge. The door frame includes a reinforcement inside the panel that extends across a bottom threshold and sides of the door frame.

  • Patent number: 9260897
Abstract: The hidden interlocking hinge assembly at least partially hides or conceals the hinging mechanism of a door pivotally attached to a jamb. The assembly incorporates interlocking knuckles on the door and the jamb, an overlapping flange feature, and a corresponding depression feature that allows the overlapping flange and the depression to move relative to the other without binding and while generally concealing the balance of the assembly.
