Patent number: 10926752Abstract: A gladhand assembly having a conduit for carrying a fluid and a port having a sidewall defining an interior region. The port also having a first opening in communication with an external environment and a second opening in communication with the conduit. The port includes a first recess in the interior region and disposed in the sidewall. There is a filter member including a sidewall and a first opening including a rim. The rim extends outwardly from the sidewall in a radial direction and is seated on the first recess in the sidewall of the port. There is a seal member configured to engage with and close the first opening in the port and the seal member includes a film having a first surface facing the external environment and a second surface facing the interior region of the port. The film includes a re-closable aperture.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2018Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Inventors: James C. Papafagos, Edward H. Badhorn

Patent number: 10857989Abstract: A swivel coupling assembly includes a first annular member having at least one annular barb, a shoulder and at least one annular groove containing a seal. There is a first bearing surface and a second bearing surface either side of the annular groove. The first and second bearing surfaces have a width equal to or greater than a width of the annular groove. There is a second annular member having an inner surface defining a bore configured to receive the first annular member. When joined, the shoulder of the first annular member frictionally engages the bore of the second annular, thereby allowing rotation. The seal engages with and seals the bore at a location between the ends of the second member. and spaced by a distance of at least the width of the first and second bearing surfaces from the shoulder and the second opening, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2017Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Inventors: Kenneth M. Caprio, Edward H. Badhorn

Patent number: 10473243Abstract: A hose repair kit includes a retaining sleeve having a first opening to receive an end of a hose. There is a swivel coupling inserted into a second end of the hose retaining sleeve to engage with the hose. The swivel coupling includes a first annular member with an annular barb at one end and a socket to receive a key at a second end. There is an annular retaining ring groove with a retaining ring therein. A second annular member receives, within an internal bore having an annular recess, the first annular member and the retaining ring engages the annular recess to secure the first annular member to the second annular member. The surface of the bore is frusto-conically shaped allowing the retaining ring to be compressed as it travels into the bore until it reaches the annular recess and expands into and is seated in the annular recess.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2018Date of Patent: November 12, 2019Inventors: Edward H. Badhorn, Kenneth M. Caprio
