  • Publication number: 20240147918
Abstract: A controlled environment agriculture system is provided, in which the system includes an inner layer and an outer layer. At atmospheric conditions, the inner layer is air permeable, water vapor permeable, and liquid water impermeable, and the outer layer is water vapor impermeable and liquid water impermeable. An enclosure defined by the inner layer is disposed within the interior space of an enclosure defined by the outer layer, and a primary spacing is maintained between at least a portion of the outer surface of the inner layer and the inner surface of the outer layer.

  • Publication number: 20240123205
Abstract: Described herein are encapsulation devices that include an inner layer, an outer layer, a cell containment layer positioned between the inner and outer layer, and structural elements disposed within the cell containment layer to separate the inner and outer layers by a separation distance. The structural elements define reservoir spaces for the retention of a biological moiety (such as cells) therein. The structural elements maintain a separation distance both under external compressive forces and under internal expansive forces, such as undergoing a geometric change in the encapsulation device or during crushing and subsequent expansion of the cell encapsulation device. In some embodiments, a reinforcing layer is positioned between the inner layer and the cell containment layer. In addition, the encapsulation device may include at least one configuration element. Methods of placing encapsulation devices in a body conduit intra-luminally, extra-luminally, and via an open surgical procedure are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11918757
Abstract: A multi lumen catheter assembly. The assembly provides an expandable, low profile, fixed length sheath and catheter, with fixed infusion ports. The assembly has an expandable outer sheath that expands upon pressure activation with a fluid and the sheath allows the fluid to exit from at least one predetermined fixed location from a distal end of the catheter assembly. The catheter assembly can be used in various medical device procedures, such as a TIPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt) procedure, or anywhere a low profile, multi lumen, infusion catheter system is desired.

  • Patent number: 11911537
Abstract: A length extensible implantable device includes a porous member and a longitudinal constraining member. The longitudinal constraining member can constrain at least a portion, up to the entire length of, the porous member in the longitudinal direction. The length of the longitudinally constrained portion can be expanded by applying force to the porous member. The porous member may be a porous tubular member.

  • Patent number: 6302096
Abstract: A kit, from which a stove, a heater, and a lantern can be assembled from a minimum of components. Toward accomplishing this, components of the kit can be used in the assembly of more than one of the options stove, heater, and lantern. Thus, a straight valve/aspirator unit of the kit serves for all three options, and a burner and elbow serves in both of the options stove and heater.

  • Patent number: 4883398
Abstract: In an installation method according to the invention, one pulls the wings of a toggle bolt into contact with the inner surface of a wall continuously during tightening of the bolt, this being in contrast with previous practice where the finger nails eventually must be removed, and thus the pulling action eliminated, in order to prevent locking of the fingernails between the wall and bolt head. An apparatus according to the invention comprises means for exerting a pull on the bolt of a toggle bolt, for maintaining the contact of the wings with the inner surface of a wall until the bolt has been tightened. The invention also provides a special manufacturing method for a particular apparatus of the invention.
