  • Patent number: 6250970
Abstract: An angled lamp socket includes a body and a housing. The body contains therein opposing lamp retaining clips and a plurality of IDC contacts. The housing contains a plurality of holes to receive wire leads. The housing also contains a housing disc. The bottom portion of the IDC contacts are connected electrically to the wire leads and the top portion of the IDC contacts are connected to the lamp. When a lamp is inserted into the socket body, the horizontal axis of the lamp will extend at an angle in relation to the wire leads. In a preferred embodiment, such an angle is 90° thereby providing a right angle lamp socket.

  • Patent number: 4746301
Abstract: A solderless electrical contact commonly called a press-fit contact pin includes a press fit section comprising, in cross section, a double open curved or arcuate section generally resembling an "S" shape and a longitudinal section having tapering cross-section to provide a lead-in angle. More particularly, the press-fit section has curved faces each formed from an arc of radius defined as ##EQU1## where R is the radius, S is the height of the rectangular blank, T is the thickness of the material disposed between said curved surfaces at their closest point, and L is the length of the press-fit section.

  • Patent number: 4701138
Abstract: A solderless connector for electrically connecting an insulated wire to a metal terminal is disclosed. The connector comprises a housing for slidably receiving an applicator block that carries the insulated wire. The housing also includes a terminal and an actuating lever that is operatively connected to the guide means. Arcuate movement of the lever moves the block and wire into a receiving portion of the terminal that severs the insulation and simultaneously completes a secure electrical connection.

  • Patent number: 4183610
Abstract: Press-fit contact pins are disclosed which are adapted for mating with various shrouds and mounting boards. Each of the press-fit contact pins includes a press-fit section comprising, in cross-section, an open, curved or arcuate segment, generally resembling a "C"-shape. The dimensioning of the "C"-shaped press-fit section and the ductility-elasticity of the material from which it is formed are such that, when the pin is inserted into any one of a number of holes in a mounting board of a wide range of sizes, the "C"-shaped press-fit section undergoes plastic deformation in a substantial portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 4118094
Abstract: An electrical connector is provided for electrically interconnecting the conductive terminals of a flat electrical circuit-bearing structure such as a circuit board with a backplane or the like. The connector includes a housing having a slot, into which the flat electrical circuit-bearing structure is inserted, and a carrier mounted for reciprocal movement in the slot to move the flat structure as it is inserted. A contact strip mounted on the carrier moves with the carrier and also is movable transversely thereof by a cam action to engage the flat structure's conductive terminal as the flat electrical structure is inserted. A resilient portion of the contact strip extends from the carrier to another portion fixed in the housing and urges the carrier outwardly of the slot and into abutment with the inserted electrical element.

  • Patent number: 4068107
Abstract: An electrical switch comprises a support, a pair of fixed contacts thereon, a switch actuating rocker platen pivotally mounted on the support for alternate pivotal movement into and out of engagement with the contacts, actuator means for pivoting the platen into and out of engagement, the actuator means comprising a pivoted lever, a spring-biased plunger means on the lever and engaging the switch actuating rocker platen for movement thereon whereby the platen rocks around the axis of its pivotal mounting to alternately engage with one of each of the fixed contacts. The spring-biased plunger means comprises a roller, bearing on and adapted to ride over the platen and rotatably attached to the pivoted lever at the roller's center of rotation.

  • Patent number: 4036185
Abstract: A valve train comprises a cylinder head and poppet valve thereon, a valve-actuating rocker platen pivotally mounted on the cylinder head by means of a pivot member so that the platen may pivot between positions on either side of the member, a valve connected to one end of the rocker platen for movement of the valve simultaneously with movement of the rocker platen between the rocker platen positions, and actuator means for moving the rocker platen between the positions thereby positively moving the valve between its open position and its closed position, the actuator means comprising a rotary cam means and cooperating follower pivotally mounted and spring biased into engagement with the rocker platen and engaged with the cam means for pivoting the rocker arm upon rotation of the cam means, the follower comprising a pivotally mounted casing, spring biased plunger means on the casing, and biased to a roller bearing on and adapted to ride over the rocker platen, thereby moving the platen between the positions, t
